Below this HiFiMAN SVANAR Wireless review, you will find specs comparisons of the SVANAR Wireless series wireless earbuds.

Appearance Design and Comfort

The shape of the charging case is very unique, with a polygonal design, which is very recognizable – the exquisite workmanship and materials make people mistake it for a jewelry box. However, its large size makes it difficult to fit in the jeans pocket.

The HIFIMAN Svanar Wireless has a metallic feel and comes with business and fashion attributes – but with a larger cavity. There is a relatively small touch panel on the front, but the thickness and width are relatively large when viewed from the side. After all, it is equipped with HYMALAYA R2R DAC chip + independent headphone amp + Topology diaphragm driver, which has become the biggest advantage of Svanar Wireless without affecting wearing and pursuing the ultimate sound quality.

The design of Svanar Wireless is more “ergonomic” than previous products. The earbuds are made of carbon fiber with the weight of a single earbud is only 8g. In addition to breathability and lightness, resonance also has a better inhibiting effect. The excellent ergonomic design brings the more comfortable and fit of wearing experience.

Comes with 8 pairs of silicone eartips, which can meet the needs of most users

After being worn correctly, the earbuds can just match the pinna, and the fit is very high and comfortable. Shaking the head, walking or even jogging will not fall off – the stability is good.

Connectivity, Battery Life and Control

The earbuds uses Bluetooth 5.2 and supports SBC, AAC and LDAC codec. When connecting for the first time, just select “HIFIMAN SVANAR WIRELESS” in your phone’s bluetooth device list to connect quickly. The earbud is connected to the mobile phone stably within 15 meters. In an environment without obstacles, the connection will be intermittent if the distance from the mobile phone is more than 15 meters.

The earbuds have a single battery life of up to 7 hours, and the combined battery life of the charging case can reach 28 hours. The battery life is 5 hours in ANC mode and 4 hours in HiFi mode. Also, the earbuds support IPX5 waterproof rating.

SVANAR WIRELESS support touch operation, the control logic is similar to other TWS earbuds, and does not require too much learning cost.

  • Single-tap L or R earbud: play/pause music
  • Double-tap L or R earbud: previous song
  • Triple-tap L or R earbud: next song
  • Double-tap L or R earbud: answer/Hang up
  • Long press L or R earbud 3s: reject call
  • Long-press R earbud: activate voice assistant
  • Long-press L earbud 3s: switching between ANC/transparent mode/HiFi mode

Noise Cancellation and Calls

HIFIMAN SVANAR WIRELESS supports ANC mode and transparency mode with the noise cancellation depth is 35dB. Noise cancellation depth, wind noise resistance and environmental sound transparency cannot be compared with Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II, Baseus Bowie M2s, TOZO Golden X1. After all, these are not the strong points of the HiFi brand.

Of course, it is enough to say that it is enough – after all, the current noise cancellation solutions are generally quite mature. The measured noise cancellation effect is not bad – basically no noisy sound can be heard after the music is turned on.

SVANAR WIRELESS adopts ENC call noise cancellation technology, which can suppress background environmental noise during calls. The overall call effect is also relatively clear, but it still needs to be strengthened. There is more wind noise able to pass through the earphones.

In general, noise cancellation and transparency modes are not the strong points of HIFIMAN SVANAR WIRELESS.

It should be noted that HYMALAYA R2R DAC does not work in these two modes, and it will only work when it is switched to HiFi mode.

Sound Quality of HIFIMAN Svanar Wireless

HIFIMAN Svanar Wireless is equipped with an audio hardware combination of HYMALAYA R2R DAC+independent headphone amplifier+Topology diaphragm driver. It is the world’s first TWS earbuds with the built-in DAC chip.

This is a bold attempt, which is equivalent to putting the audio system of wired earphones into TWS earbuds, making up for the shortcomings of bluetooth headphones, and completing the leapfrog improvement.

The HIFIMAN Svanar Wireless sound experience is like the combination of HIFIMAN Svanar+EF400 desktop amplifier – for playing 24Bit high-definition music, the sound quality similarity can reach 95%. The tuning schemes of the two tend to be consistent, but the driving force of Svanar Wireless is definitely much weaker than that of Svanar+EF400. But after all, with the blessing of HYMALAYA R2R architecture, the peak driving force of Svanar Wireless can reach 63mW, which is enough for daily listening to music.

Low-Frequency: The impact force, air sense, energy sense and shape sense can all be conveyed. Bass instruments (bass, kick drum) can all show the energy transfer ability of mid-to-high-end wired headphones.

Mid-Frequency: The mid-frequency is very natural and moist. The resolution is particularly wonderful, and every movement has texture, density and fullness.

High-Frequency: The high-frequency is bright but not harsh and contains excellent information. Its high-frequency will show strong delicacy in the mellow atmosphere. Transparency, detail, and micro-motion capture are all excellent.

It seems that there is not much sound optimization for the noise cancellation mode, and the sound is obviously stronger when the ANC is turned off.

In general, the low-frequency quantity is sufficient, the extension is deep, and the texture is strong. The mid-high-frequency resolution and vocal performance are excellent. Especially the sound details of background instruments, the hearing sense is very clear, the imaging is precise, and the separation is excellent.

Verdict

I really appreciate the HIFIMAN Svanar Wireless tuning style, very suitable for HiFi audiophiles who like different styles of songs. Exquisite design, HYMALAYA R2R DAC chip, carbon fiber cavity, LDAC codec, these features make Svanar Wireless the “ceiling” among the current TWS earbuds.

Shortcoming of HIFIMAN Svanar Wireless:

  • Insufficient of noise cancellation depth and intensity
  • Call quality needs to be improved
  • No multipoint connection
  • No game mode
  • No in-ear detection
  • No APP support
  • No wireless charging
