After releasing two nearly identical clip-on earbuds (QCY Crossky C30 and QCY Crossky C30S), QCY has recently launched a newly designed open-ear model – QCY Crossky C50. The C50 offers better wearing stability than the previous model and adds new features.

Appearance Design & Comfort Fit
The QCY Crossky C50 features a completely new design, with a shape similar to the TOZO Open EarRing andSoundPeats POP Clip, though differing in the charging case’s appearance and materials. The case is made of leather, giving it a more luxurious look. Mine is the white version, but there are also pink and black versions.
The charging case follows a classic pebble-shaped design, with only an LED indicator on the front, a USB-C port at the bottom, and a circular button. The earbuds are connected by a C-shaped bridge, with the spherical part serving as the sound output chamber.

Excitingly, it finally supports adaptive left/right channels – no need to distinguish between left and right ears. This feature is also available on the SoundPeats POP Clip but was missing on the QCY Crossky C30S.
Additionally, the C50 boasts an IPX5 waterproof rating, making it resistant to sweat and light rain. As an open-ear clip-on earbuds, it offers excellent stability and comfort, suitable for evryday, commuting, and sports.
Connectivity & App Support
The Bluetooth 6.0 connection is reliable, with minimal latency. I’ve never experienced dropouts or interruptions within a 10-meter range. Opening the case puts the earbuds into pairing mode, and you can quickly connect by selecting “QCY Crossky C50” from your phone’s bluetooth device list.
Moreover, the QCY C50 supports multipoint connection, allowing simultaneous pairing with a smartphone and tablet. For example, you can connect both your tablet and phone, listening to music on the tablet while still receiving phone calls.
The QCY Crossky C50 is compatible with the QCY App (available for Android and iOS). The app includes firmware updates, battery status monitoring, find headset, preset EQ options, customizable EQ settings, touch control customization, dynamic EQ switch, adaptive volume switch, and the ability to activate gaming mode or sleeping mode.
Battery Life & Touch Controls
The charging case has a 380mAh battery, while each earbud has a 35mAh battery. The battery life is impressive, offering 7.5 hours of playback on a single charge (AAC, 50% volume) and up to 35 hours total with the case. The case charges via USB-C but lacks wireless charging support.
The touch-sensitive area is located on the back of the earbuds, supporting default double-tap, triple-tap, and long-press controls. By default, a single-tap is disabled and must be customized in the app.
The default control scheme is comprehensive:
- Double-tap L or R earbud: play/pause music
- Triple-tap R earbud: next track
- Double-tap L or R earbud: answer/end call
- Tap and hold for 1.5s: reject call
- Triple-tap L earbud: activate voice assistant
Sound Quality & Sound Leakage
The QCY Crossky C50 is equipped with a composite diaphragm dual-magnetic dynamic driver, delivering deep, powerful bass and clear, crisp treble. Additionally, it features a bass-enhancement chip and a dynamic, volume-adaptive triple algorithm for an immersive and balanced audio experience.
The QCY Crossky C50 delivers full bass and midrange, making the sound more balanced and vibrant. The bass is deep, punchy, and powerful.
The vocals are clear, detailed, and natural. The treble is transparent and not harsh, suitable for various song styles such as pop and classical.
The C50 uses directional audio technology and reverse sound wave technology, reducing sound leakage by 90% and directing audio straight into the ears for a private listening experience. In actual use, no sound is audible from half a meter away at 50% volume.
Conclusion
The upgrades and changes in the QCY Crossky C50 make it more stable for wear. The improved battery life and the addition of adaptive left/right channels enhance the overall user experience. However, compared to the QCY Crossky C30S, it lacks LDAC codec support, which is a slight drawback.
