Appearance Design & Comfort & Accessories

TRN Azure Dragon review: Sound quality and comfortable coexist

TRN Azure Dragon uses a 5-axis CNC-cut metal hollow cavity, and the curves and lines of the panel are designed to imitate the dragon’s neck.

The inner side of the earphone cavity is not curved to increase the fit, and the wearing comfort mainly depends on the reasonable depth of the nozzle. Therefore, when wearing, I recommend changing the eartips that fit your ears.

The headphone cable is a 4-stranded high-purity silver-plated copper cable that supports 2.5/3.5/4.4mm replaceable plugs. Azure Dragon provides three replaceable tuning nozzles with different tuning styles (Reference, Transparency, Atmospheric Immersion). Plus, it also comes with a leather storage case and 3 sets of eartips with different tuning styles (T tips, Bass tips, Sponge tips).

    Headphone Configuration & Driving

TRN Azure Dragon review: Sound quality and comfortable coexist

The biggest highlight of TRN Azure Dragon is its 14.6mm nano-level planar diaphragm driver, which supports a frequency response range of 7Hz to 40KHz and can bring you high-resolution sound. It also uses a 7+7 N52 neodymium magnet symmetrical array magnetic circuit to reduce even-order harmonic distortion and improve magnetic circuit efficiency, bringing users a clearer sound quality experience.

Azure Dragon has an impedance of only 32Ω and a sensitivity of 108dB/mW, so it is not very demanding on the player. You can fully utilize its performance by using a mobile phone + mini headphone amplifier or a HIFI player. If your music player supports gain mode, the sound quality will be better after turning it on. The improvement of high-output power equipment is mainly in the horizontal/vertical soundstage, power and dynamic performance.

It is worth mentioning that TRN Azure Dragon is equipped with three replaceable tuning nozzles. These tuning nozzles have different inner diameters, lengths and filters, which can enhance different audio areas, allowing you to choose the most suitable sound style according to your preferences.

Sound Description: The hights is very excellent

TRN Azure Dragon review: Sound quality and comfortable coexist

TRN Azure Dragon is a planar headphones (default nozzles + eartips) that focuses on naturalness, calmness, softness, and meticulousness. The hearing of Azure Dragon is relatively gentle and delicate – even when listening to electronic music, every note can be presented in an orderly manner. The low distortion advantage of the planar diaphragm driver still exists, the overall sound is pure, transparent, and realistic, with a certain sense of distance and a wide soundstage.

Bass: The low-frequency quantity is moderate but less, but it is loose and elastic, with clear layers, good thickness and extension. Plus, it is supplemented by restrained reverberation and comfortable overtones.

Mids: The distance and thickness of the mids vocals are moderate, the imaging outline is clear, and the energy is condensed. There is no obvious tendency in style, and both male and female voices can be restored realistically.

Hights: Hights is the absolute strength of TRN Azure Dragon, and its presence is the strongest among the tri-frequency. The highs ductility of the planar diaphragm unit is excellent, and it can easily handle ACG, JPOP, electronic music, and violin, showing a beautiful and delicate highs effect. At the same time, the imaging adjustment is very solid, without a sense of loss of control, and it is still based on the premise of being pleasant to listen to.

In addition to the tri-frequency performance, the dynamic range is also impressive. Its dynamic response is fast and powerful, and with the moderate transient speed, it makes the music sound more vivid. At the same time, TRN Azure Dragon also has rich and clear details, and the sound is transparent and melodious.

    Conclusion & Specs

TRN Azure Dragon is a planar headphones with excellent sound quality and comfortable wearing. It has won the love of many music lovers with its unique planar diaphragm design and excellent audio performance. Whether it is the exquisite retro appearance design and workmanship, or the mature tuning concept, to making the Azure Dragon has very high product competitiveness.
