The QCY Crossky C30S excels in design, comfort, and stability, making it particularly suitable for users who prefer open-ear wearing. Its sound quality is also impressive, standing out among clip-ear earbuds.

Appearance Design & Comfort Fit
The QCY Crossky C30S is an upgraded version of QCY C30, and the appearance of the two can be said to be the same – only minor design and material differences set them apart.
The charging case retains its classic pebble-like shape but now features a metallic paint finish, significantly enhancing its premium feel. The earbuds consist of two “water-drop” modules connected by a C-bridge, treated with an NCVM mirror coating that gives them a metallic sheen – though this does make them prone to fingerprints.

The earbuds use a nickel-titanium alloy skeleton (C-bridge) wrapped in skin-friendly silicone, ensuring both flexibility and comfort. Additionally, the inverted Z style structure improves stability during wear.
Each earbud weighs just 5g, making them nearly unnoticeable during extended use – perfect for commuting, work, or sports. They also boast an IPX5 waterproof rating, protecting against sweat and light rain.
Connectivity & App Support
The earbuds use the latest Bluetooth 6.0 technology, ensuring stable connections and low latency, ideal for gaming and media. For the first pairing, simply take the earbuds out of the case and select “QCY Crossky C30S” from your phone’s bluetooth list.
The earbuds maintain a stable connection with smartphone within a 10-meter range. Over 10 meters, the connection occasionally becomes intermittent in an environment without obstacles.
Additionally, the C30S supports multipoint connection and can connect to phone and tablets at the same time.
The QCY App (available for iOS and Android) offers extensive customization, including: EQ presets, sound channel balance, touch control settings, adjust touch sensitivity, beep volume control, gaming mode switch, LDAC switch, spatial sound effects switch, sleeping mode switch.
Battery Life & Gaming Mode & Controls
The QCY Crossky C30S offers 6 hours of playback per charge (average for its class, just 1 hour more than the C30). However, the total battery life is up to 40 hours, 15 hours longer than the QCY Crossky C30 and SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro – which is commendable. When LDAC is turned on, the battery life will be further reduced.
The dedicated gaming mode must be activated via the app (touch controls can also be customized). The QCY C30S plays video playback smoothly on both Android and iPhone.
The touch panel is in the back of your ear and responds accurately. Default controls include: play/pause music (double-tap), skip to next track (triple-tap on the right earbud), answer/hang up calls (double-tap), activate the voice assistant (triple-tap on the left earbud), reject calls (long press for 1.5s).
It should be noted that the single-tap is unassigned by default but can be customized in the app. The volume controls, previous track, and gaming mode are disabled by default, so you need to go into the app to enable them.
Sound Leakage & Sound Quality
A common issue with open-ear headphones is sound leakage, but they are well-controlled. QCY Crossky C30S uses Directional Audio 3.0 reverse sound wave noise reduction technology, which can effectively prevent sound leakage.
Whether listening to music or taking call, you can hardly hear any sound leakage when standing face to face (50% volume + half a meter away).
QCY C30S has a built-in 10.8mm carbon fiber diaphragm dual magnet dynamic driver, which enhances bass performance and improves sound clarity. It supports SBC, AAC and LDAC codecs.
Note: LDAC cannot be used simultaneously with Game Mode or Spatial Audio. Also, toggling LDAC requires reconnecting the earbuds.
I found it to be quite good – warm, balanced, and plenty detailed. The bass is stronger than many clip-on earbuds, with impactful drum beats – though still not as deep as in-ear earbuds. The bass is full and powerful.
The mids vocals are clear, detailed and natural. The treble is transparent and not harsh, suitable for a variety of song styles such as pop and classical. The sense of space is good, especially after turning on the 360° sound effect, the sense of positioning is stronger. It’s enough to clearly hear the mid-highs and clearly distinguish the various instrument ranges in any music.
Conclusion
In its price range, the QCY Crossky C30S outperforms many clip-on earbuds in sound quality. However, due to the physical limitations of open-ear design, its bass depth and noise isolation still can’t match in-ear earbuds or over-ear headphones.
Overall, the QCY C30S delivers a superb audio experience among clip-on earbuds, making it an excellent choice for users prioritizing comfort and balanced sound.
