NFACOUS NA20 review: A HiFi earphones more suited for music listening

NFACOUS (NFAudio) has launched a new product – NFACOUS NA20, an in-ear earphones designed for music appreciation. It features a more luxurious color scheme and enhanced acoustic configuration compared to the NFACOUS NA2. Priced at under $150, does it still hold up as a recommendation?

Design & Comfort & Acoustic Architecture

The NFACOUS NA20 is made of CNC aviation-grade aluminum with the overall color is champagne gold. The back cover and housing are made of highly transparent PC material, treated with a fine matte texture. The detailing between the faceplate and the housing is impeccable.

The earpieces adopt an ergonomic design, fitting snugly into Asian ear canals. There’s minimal foreign object sensation during wear, making extended use comfortable without discomfort. For me, they remain comfortable and well-fitted with no obvious discomfort.

The nozzle is moderately sized, revealing a metal cover plate, and eartip installation is effortless. The housing features two vents: one on the inner side and another below the socket – ensuring no pressure imbalance issues while maintaining decent passive noise isolation.

The NA20 is equipped with a 10mm beryllium-plated polymer diaphragm dynamic driver (model: MC2L-100M), retaining its electromagnetically tuned dynamic driver design with dual magnetic circuits and an internal-external dual-chamber structure.

    Headphone Cable & Accessories

The NA20 comes with a 4-stranded 6N oxygen-free copper cable, ensuring high-fidelity signal transmission. The cable is exceptionally thin, soft, and resistant to tangling. Its color matches the earpieces, contributing to a cohesive aesthetic.

The detachable cable system uses a 0.78mm 2PIN connector and is compatible with most standard cables.

The accessories include a storage case, a 3.5mm-to-6.35mm adapter, and four pairs of MS42 eartips. The case is made of ballistic nylon fabric, offering strong splash resistance.

    Sound Description of NFACOUS NA20

The NFACOUS NA20 has an impedance of 32Ω and a sensitivity of 109dB/mW – making it a relatively easy-to-drive dynamic earphones.

Bass: The quantity is moderate, with controlled thickness and fullness. The elasticity is average, but the bass extension is excellent. The speed of attack and decay is moderate, with a relatively minimal amount of residual reverberation preserved. Its bass places a strong emphasis on musicality, sounding more focused on long time listenability.

Mids: The vocals maintain a slight distance, leaning toward warmth. The emphasis is on texture rather than sharp definition. There is no obvious tendency between male and female voices, and the compatibility with male and female voices is very good. A subtle graininess is preserved, avoiding excessive smoothness. The tonality is mildly warm, with moderate transparency.

Highs: Moderate in brightness with high smoothness, avoiding overly intense energy. The highs is crisp but never piercing. Extension in the ultra-highs is commendable, with a slightly fast but not premature roll-off.

Instruments: Most instruments are rendered with a texture-first approach. Violins, violas, and acoustic guitars have appropriate thickness, while electric guitars sound denser and more impactful. Woodwinds exhibit good naturalness and airiness. Harmonics are not overly abundant but remain organic. Cymbals have sufficient brightness without harshness or excessive metallic glare.

Soundstage: The soundstage is well-proportioned, with similar width and depth – neither particularly expansive. Separation between vocals and instruments is good. Resolution is decent but leans more toward listenability than analytical precision. Dynamics are solid, and transients are controlled without excessive speed emphasis.

    Conclusion

The NFACOUS NA20 (NFAudio NA20) emphasizes long time listenability and atmospheric immersion. It offers broad adaptability and delivers a pleasing sonic performance, making it a strong contender in its price range.
