Appearance Design and Comfort

From the appearance alone, it is difficult to tell whether it is open-ear clip earphones – the QCY Crossky C30 charging case is very similar to TWS earbuds. Plus, the total weight is only 42g, which is very small and lightweight. There is an LED light on the front and a Type-C charging port on the back.

The placement and design of the earbuds are the same as Ambie Sound Earcuffs (AM-TW01), the difference is the shape and weight of the charging case. Each earbud weighs only 5g, and you can hardly feel the burden when wearing it, and you will not feel uncomfortable even if you use it for a long time.

QCY Crossky C30 earbuds adopt a water-drop-like ear-clip design, which is beautiful and recognizable. They use a nickel-titanium alloy C-shap bridge design and NCVM electroplating treatment, making the overall appearance more refined.

The unique inverted Z-style design allows the earbuds to fit snugly over the ears without interfering with glasses or eye masks – keeping them stable even during intense exercise. The weight distribution of the earbud is optimized to achieve 360° uniform force without causing pressure on the ears.

Connectivity, App Support and Controls

QCY Crossky C30 uses Bluetooth 5.4 technology, which has significantly improved the connection distance, stability and transmission speed. When connecting for the first time, just select “QCY Crossky C30” in the bluetooth list of your device to quickly connect. When using it again, you need to take out the earbuds to automatically connect to the last successfully paired bluetooth device.

Plus, the C30 supports multi-point connection, meaning you can connect it to two devices at the same time and switch between them when you receive a call, or when you pause on one device, and play on the other.

QCY Crossky C30 supports QCY App for Android and iOS. The app provides battery status, EQ options (6 preset EQ), control settings, gaming mode switch, spatial sound switch, sleeping mode switch, find headset, touch sensitivity, and beep volume settings, etc.

The touch panel of the earbuds is located in the back cavity. All basic controls can be realized on the earbuds. It should be noted that single-tap is turned off by default, and you need to customize the options in the app. Plus, game mode and spatial sound effects can also be customized.

The default control scheme is comprehensive:

  • Triple-tap R earbud: next track
  • Double-tap L or R earbud: play/pause music
  • Double-tap L or R earbud: answer/end call
  • Press and hold L or R earbud for 1.5s: reject call
  • Triple-tap L or R earbud: activate voice assistant

Battery Life, Games and Video Playback

The battery capacity of the charging case is 400mAh, and the earbuds are 32mAh. The earbuds can last up to 5 hours on a single charge, and up to 25 hours in total. Plus, the earbuds support fast charging function – charge for 10 minutes and listen to music for 3 hours.

The QCY Crossky C30 plays videos without issues on both Android and iPhone. There’s lipsync performance in video apps like YouTube and Apple TV.

The QCY C30 also has a dedicated low-latency game mode you can activate from the Android and iPhone app or earbuds. This helps to synchronize the sound effects with the action on your screen, and the latency as low as 60ms.

Calls, Sound Quality and Leakaging

QCY Crossky C30 is equipped with a 10.8mm dual-magnet high-sensitivity driver unit, supporting SBC and AAC codec. The treble is transparent, bright and whithout harsh. The mid-frequency vocals are clear, full and layered. The low-frequency quantity is moderate and extends deep. The restoration of vocals and instrumental sounds is high.

Additionally, it has spatial audio function, but does not support head tracking. After turning it on, it has a good sense of space and third-dimensional sense.

QCY Crossky C30 uses directional sound transmission and reverse sound wave silencing technology – in a quiet environment, the sound of the earbuds cannot be heard at a distance of about two meters. When the volume is adjusted to about 80%, people close to you may hear a slight sound.

The C30 uses dual-microphone noise separation technology and anti-wind noise structure to enhance the separated vocal. The actual call voice is clear, and some sharp sounds and continuous noises can still be heard. Although a bit wind noise can still be heard, they can indeed eliminate most of the wind noise.

Conclusion

QCY Crossky C30 is really comfortable and stable, and there is no sense of falling when running outdoors. A single earbud weighs only 5g, which is very suitable for long time wear for running and exercise. Plus, they supports channel balance setting, multi-point connection, game mode, spatial sound effects, sleeping mode, find headset, etc.
