    Final ZE8000 is equipped with a new self-developed dynamic driver and applies new acoustic technology to provide an 8K SOUND high-definition listening experience and can easily control various music styles. It is also equipped with a high-fidelity Class AB amplifier, which effectively improves the linearity of the sound and reduces noise and distortion. Equipped with a digital signal processor, it can correct the transmission frequency of digital signals so that the total harmonic distortion of the earbuds can be kept low in any frequency band, thereby obtaining a more accurate sound signal.

    Final ZE8000 review: The pursuit of the ultimate sound detail performance

    ZE8000 adopts final’s newly designed ANC system, which picks up sound through 4 MEMS microphones on both sides – through an efficient processor, it effectively reduces noise. Supports noise cancellation mode, anti-wind noise mode, ambient sound mode and voice mode to meet the use needs in different scenarios.

    In terms of wireless transmission, Final ZE8000 supports Bluetooth 5.2 and Snapdragon Sound technology. Support aptX, Aqstic audio formats. Supports 24bit/96kHz high-resolution lossless audio, and the high-resolution audio signal transmission delay is as low as 90ms. The earbuds have a single battery life of about 5 hours and the total battery life of about 15 hours. Support fast charging function, charging for 5 minutes and listening to music for 45 minutes. Let’s take a look at the detailed teardown report of Final ZE8000.

    01/ Final ZE8000 Charging Case Teardown

    Disassemble the charging case and take out the internal charging bin. The inner side of the casing is provided with an indicator light guide column and a light hood.

    The bottom structure of the charging bin is covered with a sponge pad to protect the battery.

    Remove the battery and secure the motherboard unit with screws.

    The charging case has a built-in lithium-ion battery, parameter information on the label, model: AEC402335, rated capacity: 420mAh/1.596Wh, rated voltage: 3.8V, charging limit voltage: 4.35V, from AEC, made in China.

    Remove the screws and remove the motherboard unit. The bottom of the charging bin is equipped with an FPC board for charging earbuds.

    TPS SY8801 intelligent charging bin solution integrates charging module and discharging module. The charging current and discharge cut-off current can be adjusted externally.

    SY8801 uses the output power and ground to achieve communication between the charging case and earbuds. The chip integrates a standard I2C interface and interrupt signal to facilitate communication between the chip and the MCU. The chip also provides load detection and load insertion identification. SY8801 is very suitable for the design of charging cases, simplifying peripheral circuits and components, and providing a simple and easy-to-use solution for charging case applications.

    3.3μH power inductor works with the power management chip.

    Chipsea CS32F035 microcontroller uses a high-performance 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0 core, embedded with up to 32Kbytes flash and 4Kbytes SRAM, and has a maximum operating frequency of 48MHz. The CS32F035/F036 series covers a variety of products from 20-pin to 32-pin. The chip provides standard communication interfaces (I2C, SPI and USART), 1 12bit ADC, 5 16bit timers, and 1 enhanced control PWM timer. The operating temperature range is -40℃~85/105℃, and the operating voltage range is 2V~5.5V.

    WillSemi ESD56241D12 TVS protection tube. The ESD56241DXX series is a transient voltage suppressor designed to protect power interfaces with high surge capabilities – suitable for replacement of multiple discrete components in portable electronic equipment. Available in DFN2x2-3L package, standard products are lead-free and halogen-free.

    The motherboard connects to the BTB connector of the FPC board.

    The hall element of the silk screen AL 2S is used to sense the magnetic field changes when the charging case cover is opened/closed, and then notify the charging case MCU to control the earbuds to pair or disconnect from the connected device.

    The charging case is the Pogo pin connector for earbuds charging and communication.

    The FPC board connects to the motherboard’s BTB connector.

    Tear off the external insulation protection of the battery, and the silk-screen information on the battery core is consistent with the external label.

    The circuit on one side of the battery protection board is equipped with a lithium battery protection IC, MOS tube, and thermistor.

    Silk screen 48X 402 lithium battery protection IC is responsible for battery overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent, etc. protection.


    02/ Final ZE8000 Earbuds Teardown

    Remove the earbud stem back cover.

    The inner structure of the cover – there are microphone acoustic structures at both ends, and a bluetooth antenna and touch detection sensor are attached in the middle.

    The mainboard unit structure inside the cavity is fixed by positioning posts and glue.

    Open the earbud head, open the connector, and take out the motherboard.

    The inner structure of the earbud stem is equipped with two magnets and a charging case for adsorption and fixation.

    The circuit on one side of the headphone motherboard.

    The circuit on the other side of the headphone motherboard.

    The MEMS microphone of Lasdiao 127 BDM is used for the noise cancellation function to pick up environmental noise.

    Connect the BTB connector of the earbud head internal component FPC.

    Silk screen Z7ELW’s memory is used to store bluetooth configuration and other information.

    Qualcomm QCC5141 bluetooth audio SoC is an ultra-low-power single-chip solution. It adopts WLCSP package and has smaller size. Supports Bluetooth 5.2 and Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound technology, with programmable DSP, optimized for true wireless earphones and hearing devices.

    Qualcomm QCC5141 combines high-performance audio with low power consumption. Supports 24bit/96KHz high-resolution audio and Qualcomm aptX audio encoding – including aptX Adaptive technology. Supports aptX Voice optimized call voice and eighth-generation Qualcomm cVc echo cancellation and noise suppression technology. It also supports Qualcomm’s adaptive active noise cancellation function (not applied in Final ZE8000), including feedforward, feedback, hybrid and adaptive, and supports third-party innovation through Qualcomm extensions.

    The crystal oscillator that provides the clock for the bluetooth chip.

    Metal copper pillars connected to the charging case for earbuds charging and communication.

    Lasdiao MD35 X125 MEMS microphone, used for voice calls and noise cancellation function, comes from MEMSensing.

    The metal dome to which the touch detection sensor is connected.

    Silk screen SA2N5 touch detection IC for touch control function.

    The internal structure of the front cavity of the earbud head is equipped with a battery and FPC.

    Remove the speaker and battery.

    The speaker diaphragm is protected by a metal cover.

    The back of the speaker: welded with wires, with a tuning hole in the center.

    After actual measurement, the speaker size is approximately 9.53mm.

    Take out the battery.

    FPC circuit.

    The BTB connector that connects the FPC to the motherboard.

    Two LED lights of different colors are used to feedback charging status.

    Integrated lithium battery protection IC with silk screen printing 2Y Vp.

    The headset has a built-in steel case button battery – model: ICB1154, voltage: 3.85V, from EVE.

    The negative electrode of the steel case button battery is engraved with a QR code. Battery capacity: 54mAh 0.208Wh.

    03/ Summary

    Final ZE8000 adopts a simple design style. The charging case is made of matte material, which is not stained by fingerprints and scratches. The sliding cover design and open charging bin make it very convenient to open/close the lid and take out the headphones. The handle-shaped in-ear earbuds are very unique in design and are equipped with 5 sizes of silicone ear tips to improve wearing comfort.

    The charging case has a built-in 420mAh lithium battery and is equipped with an independent battery protection board. The motherboard is equipped with TPS SY8801 intelligent charging case solution, integrating charging module and discharging module. The charging current and discharge cut-off current can be adjusted externally, supporting communication between the charging case and earbuds. WillSemi ESD56241D12 TVS protection tube is responsible for Type-C port input overvoltage protection. Chipsea CS32F035 microcontroller is used for charging case control.

    The earbud is equipped with a 9.53mm dynamic driver and two built-in MEMS microphones to pick up sound. The main control chip is Qualcomm QCC5141 bluetooth audio SoC, which supports Bluetooth 5.2 and Snapdragon Sound technology, and has the characteristics of high-performance audio and low power consumption. The earbud has a built-in steel case button battery with a capacity of 54mAh from EVE.
