In terms of personalization and recognition, it can almost be said to be a must. At the same time, the performance of earbuds in basic wireless listening can also meet the needs of daily use. If you are still looking for earphones that can fully express your personality, HHOGene GPods is a choice worth considering.

    Appearance Design & Comfortable Fit

The top of the HHOGene GPods charging case is very different, the lines resemble waves. There is a groove at the opening of the cover, and there is an indicator light under the groove. On the back is the connecting shaft and the Type-C charging interface.

The earbuds have a stem-like in-ear design. The headset stem has clips on the top and end to hold the replaceable shells in place. The groove on the side of the headset stem is the touch control area. The sound cavity has a built-in wearing detection sensor, and there are charging contacts and L/R marks inside the headset stem.

The earbuds use the extension of water as an element to extract colors such as lakes/glaciers/rainbows, and cooperate with built-in 6 LED colorful lights and digital technology to realize one-key switching of light brightness, rhythm, and color.

At the same time, the innovative buckle scheme is adopted to achieve the separation of the in-ear speaker unit and the shell control unit, and the accessories can be replaced at any time. Let the appearance of earbuds be the same as clothes, you can change it if you want. It can be matched with all kinds of clothes and styles, and can also reflect the current mood, which is very personalized. I tried out the provided case, aligned and pressed the buckle to fix it, and the installation and disassembly are easy and stress-free.

After actual measurement, the overall weight of HHOGene GPods is about 55g. Because of the design of the charging case, although it can be put into the pocket of jeans, it is not recommended. A single earbud weighs about 6g, which is quite light. After all, considering the special design of earbuds, the weight can be said to be relatively well controlled.

    Connection & App Support

HHOGene GPods adopts Bluetooth 5.2 technology, which has strong compatibility, stable connection, fast transmission speed and low power consumption. When connecting for the first time, just select “HHOGene GPods” in your phone’s bluetooth device list to connect quickly. Open the charging case for subsequent use to connect to a successfully paired bluetooth device.

The earbuds is connected to the mobile phone stably within a distance of 10 meters. In an environment without obstacles, if the earbuds are more than 11 meters away from the mobile phone, the connection will be intermittent.

The earbuds supports the use of HHOGene APP, and the binding device can be added after installation. The connection status and remaining power will be displayed at the top of the APP home page, and the earbuds lighting effect will be displayed synchronously in the middle in real time. Below the first column are color themes that can be quickly switched. The second column is light effect control, which has 4 modes: two-way, one-way, constant light and breathing. At the same time, the brightness of the light can also be adjusted. The third column is the noise reduction mode setting. The fourth column is the shell preview interface.

During the light effect setting process, what you see on the APP interface is the actual effect of the earbuds. When switching, the response speed of the earbuds is also very fast, and basically they are displayed synchronously in real time.

In the more options on the side of the APP, you can customize the touch operation and update the firmware. There are currently 46 theme colors available, and the theme colors will continue to be updated.

Custom colors are even more powerful. The APP has a built-in AI algorithm, which can pick up colors through photos and albums, and convert the colors in the picture pixels into light, and project them out through the earphone shell.

The earphone has built-in 6 LED colorful lights, and each position can choose a color from the 72 basic colors provided by the APP. Arranged according to personal preferences and emotions, you can DIY your own unique headphone light and shadow at your fingertips.

Sound Description & Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)

HHOGene GPods earbuds built-in 10mm dynamic driver. At the same time, Bluetooth 5.2 technology is adopted, the bandwidth is as high as 2Mbps, and the transmission is stable. Support AAC audio decoding, you can retain more sound details when listening to audio.

In the actual experience session, I randomly selected some popular music for trial listening. The earbuds have a good sense of hearing, the three frequencies are relatively balanced, and the tuning is more natural and durable. It’s just a little lacking in details, and there is still room for improvement. However, such a voice is no problem for daily listening to songs and making phone calls.

It is also worth mentioning that HHOGene GPods supports active noise cancellation function. The official claims that the maximum noise cancellation depth can reach 25dB. Judging from my actual experience, it is enough to deal with the general noise of indoor during daily use. The earbuds also support IPX4 waterproof rating, so if you wear them out for night runs at night, the colorful lights on the earbuds are very attractive.

    Battery Life & Charging

Use a power tester to perform a wired charging test on HHOGene GPods, and the charging power is about 3.21W. The earbuds have a single battery life of up to 5 hours, the charging case can provide an additional 15 hours of battery life, and the overall battery life can reach up to 20 hours.

Even with ANC and lights turned on, the minimum battery life can reach 3 hours. At the same time, HHOGene GPods supports fast charging function: charging for 10 minutes, listening to music for 2 hours.
