AGM H5 Pro review:7000mAh battery, 3.5W speaker and 20MP infrared night vision camera

As an outdoor three-proof smartphone, AGM H5 Pro is very clear about its positioning. It inherits the ship-shaped structure design of the flagship of the AGM X series, and has strong three-proof performance and body strength. The certification of IP68, IP69K and 810H is enough to cope with most harsh outdoor environments. At the same time, the performance in satellite positioning, battery life and night vision is also remarkable.

    Appearance Design & Display

AGM H5 Pro review:7000mAh battery, 3.5W speaker and 20MP infrared night vision camera

The AGM H5 Pro adopts Kevlar black color scheme as a whole, with a professional atmosphere. Because the three-proof support and the mobile phone use an integrated body structure, and are reinforced and waterproof, the weight reaches 360g and the size is 176.15×85.5×17.5mm.

The back is made of Kevlar texture, which feels comfortable and has good slip resistance. The fingerprint module is also concentrated on the back of the phone. In the upper middle of the back is a large speaker and 3 cameras: a combination of 48MP main camera + 20MP night vision camera + 2MP macro camera, and an infrared transmitter. It is worth mentioning that the night vision lens is not a simple black and white camera, it uses the principle of infrared rays, and the night vision mode will only light up. It has 2 uses:

    1. Take pictures without sound and without flash, which is not easy to be found by people and animals outdoors.
    2. The use of infrared rays can detect whether there is a pinhole camera in the hotel.

The flash brightness of AGM H5 Pro is a little brighter than that of ordinary mobile phones. Users can use the function keys on the left to customize the key functions, and there are PTT, music, camera, and flashlight to choose from. The 3.5W speaker is surrounded by a ring of DISCO breathing lights, which will start to flash no matter if it is an incoming call or playing music. There are five modes to choose from: Breathing, Circulation, Lens, Smart, and Shuttle. Although it does not support custom colors, it is enough in daily life.

The speaker is also the highlight of the AGM H5 Pro. Built-in Smart K chip, this chip uses DOC technology, which can improve the dynamic range of mobile phone music output, reduce noise and improve volume and overall sound quality. The maximum power of 3.5W can bring about a volume of about 112dB, the high-decibel volume does not break the sound, and the three-frequency transition is natural.

The bottom of the phone is a Type-C charging interface and a 3.5mm headphone jack, protected by a waterproof rubber plug, and the official also provides replaceable accessories. On the right side are the power and volume buttons, with striped surfaces. On the left is the SIM card slot and function button. The function button adopts a golden design and feels crisp, and users can customize the button function in the settings. The SIM card slot is also protected by a rubber stopper. After opening, 2 SIM cards or a SIM card + TF card can be loaded. The TF card is used for expansion and supports up to 2TB expansion.

In terms of screen, the AGM H5 Pro uses a 6.517-inch display with a resolution of 720×1600. The color performance can meet the needs of daily use, support eye protection mode, and the hardness and strength are also guaranteed. The front camera pixel is a 20MP selfie lens, and there is no pressure to take selfies.

    Battery Life & Charging

The rugged smartphone uses a 7000mAh capacity battery (2.2 hours full charge), and the large capacity also brings longer battery life. The official claims that the standby time can be up to 417 hours, the standby time of opening the application is 217 hours, the continuous call is 24 hours, the continuous game is 8 hours, the music is played for 19 hours at 112dB, and the video is watched for 13 hours.

The AGM H5 Pro has two charging methods. In addition to the Type-C interface at the bottom, there are four charging contacts under the back to charge with the official charging stand, but the charging stand needs to be purchased additionally.

Dust Resistant & Water Resistant & Shock Resistant

The AGM H5 Pro has a different design for dust prevention. Every interface and opening is designed to be closed, so that no dust can enter the phone at all. Even if there is dust in it, you can take it to the faucet and rinse it off.

AGM H5 Pro review:7000mAh battery, 3.5W speaker and 20MP infrared night vision cameraIn addition, the AGM H5 Pro also has dual certifications of IP68 and IP69K. With the support of these two, it is no problem to shoot underwater. I also tried it, and after 30 minutes of soaking in water, it can still make a phone call. In addition, AGM H5 Pro can also withstand 100BAR water pressure erosion.

After 12 hours in the freezer, the battery only dropped from full to 55% and the phone worked. Similarly, when the ice layer is not very thick, the mobile phone can receive incoming call information normally.

You can understand shock resistance as drop resistance. AGM H5 Pro supports a drop height of 1.5 meters, which is also inseparable from the four-corner drop protection corners designed by AGM for this purpose. When our mobile phone falls, it will first land on the four corners, causing the mobile phone to smash. AGM directly adds four protection corners for this purpose, which can better protect the mobile phone when it falls.

    OS & Network & Processor & Speaker

In terms of OS, the AGM H5 Pro adopts the native Android 12 system, with a refreshing interface and not too many third-party pre-installed apps. 8+128GB of storage is enough for daily use. At the same time, the mobile phone also supports NFC and Bluetooth 5.0, which is very practical in life.

As an outdoor mobile phone, the AGM H5 Pro also has a different design on the signal. Although the phone only has 4G signal, its signal strength is no less than 5G signal. Of course, choosing 4G also has a lot of advantages, especially in terms of lower power consumption, which also leads to longer battery life.

In terms of processor, AGM H5 Pro uses MTK G85, 12nm process, 8-core 2.0Ghz frequency. The performance is between Snapdragon 675 and Snapdragon 820, with AnTuTu score of 221295.

What I like most is that this phone is equipped with a 3.5W speaker, and its external sound is comparable to that of an outdoor bluetooth speaker. The most powerful is the Smart K chip. Under the adjustment of this chip, the tri-frequency of AGM H5 Pro has a good performance, making the sound more pleasant.

Not only that, but the speakers of AGM H5 Pro also have RGB effects. A ring-shaped breathing light is designed around the speaker, which flashes when playing music or when a call comes in, and there are multiple flashing modes to choose from.

    Imaging System

AGM H5 Pro review:7000mAh battery, 3.5W speaker and 20MP infrared night vision camera

The imaging part of AGM H5 Pro uses a combination of 48MP main camera + 20MP night vision lens + 2MP macro lens, and an infrared transmitter is attached. In particular, the addition of a 3cm macro lens is necessary when taking macro photos outdoors. It is more practical for shooting large scenes and macros that require specific lenses. The front camera is a 20MP selfie lens.
