    Baseus is an emerging consumer electronics brand that has launched a number of hot-selling products in the fields of charging, audio, car products, smart home, and smart home appliances, and is recognized by many fans around the world. Baseus started its full-scale efforts in the audio field in 2017, and has continuously launched dozens of products such as TWS earbuds, neckband headphones and over-ear headphones. What 52audio will teardown this time is its recently released true wireless noise cancelling headphones.
    Baseus Bowie M2
    Baseus Bowie M2 continues the family-style simple and fashionable design style in appearance, and introduces gradient layered color to break the boundaries. In terms of functional configuration, it adopts a 10mm composite diaphragm unit, is equipped with Bluetooth 5.2 version, supports three noise cancelling modes, 4-mic ENC call noise cancelling, active noise cancelling has a 10-level custom adjustment level; it also supports dual-device intelligent connection, open It has functions such as connecting the cover, listening when you put it on, and fast charging, and has a comprehensive battery life of 30 hours.

    The Baseus TWS earbuds teardown by 52audio include: Baseus Bowie E2, Baseus AirNora, Baseus Encok W01, Baseus Encok W04 Pro, Baseus Encok W07, Baseus Encok W09 and Baseus Encok WM01 true wireless earbuds. Let’s take a look at the detailed disassembly report of this product.


    02/ Baseus Bowie M2 charging case teardown

    Through unpacking, we have a detailed understanding of the design of this product. Let’s go to the dismantling part to see the internal structure design and configuration information.

    Pry open the charging case and take out the charging case cockpit.

    The indicator light guide column and the anti-leakage sponge on the charging case shell.

    One side of the cockpit structure of the charging case. The indicator light and the Hall element cable are connected to the main board through the connector, and the battery is located in the middle of the structure, which plays a good protective role.

    An isolation plate is arranged on the other side of the cockpit, and the bluetooth pairing function button is fixed on the isolation plate.

    The motherboard unit is fixed by screws at the bottom of the cockpit.

    Remove the screws and remove the main components from the cockpit.

    The bottom structure of the cockpit is provided with 4 screws for fixing the charging case cover and earphone.

    The charging case has built-in lithium battery model YJ851730K-2C, rated voltage: 3.7V, rated capacity: 400mAh.

    The battery is equipped with a circuit protection board, which is equipped with DW01 lithium battery protection IC, 8205A MOS tube and thermistor.

    Two LED indicators with different colors are used to feedback the charging case power information and the bluetooth pairing status.

    The hall element of the silk-screen AR1x1 is used to sense the magnetic field change when the charging case is turned on/off, and then notify the charging case MCU and earphones to pair or disconnect from the connected device.

    TPS SY8801 TWS earphone charging case SOC, specially designed for TWS earphone charging case. On the basis of the design to ensure safety and high reliability (supports 28V input withstand voltage, built-in full-function charging and discharging overvoltage, overcurrent, overtemperature, short circuit protection, etc.), it also integrates I2C communication function and internal communication isolation function . Through the I2C interface, the MCU of the system can read and configure the internal functions of the power supply and the parameters of battery charge and discharge management, and easily realize such as NTC protection, segment adjustment of battery current, TWS earbuds warehouse entry, warehouse exit detection, and automatic power output. and other functions.

    The integrated internal communication isolation module of TPS SY8801 greatly optimizes the functional design of the smart TWS charging compartment. No complicated peripheral circuits are required, and the MCU can be realized by connecting and controlling the SY8801. It can not only realize the function of charging the earphone, but also transmit data through the POGO PIN of the power supply connected to the earphone, and realize functions including uploading the power of the charging compartment, clearing and pairing the earphone in the charging compartment, restoring the factory settings, and upgrading the earphone software.

    According to 52audio, the TPS power management chip has been adopted by Baseus, Xiaomi, OPPO, OnePlus, realme, Transsion, MEIZU, 1MORE, Baidu, Edifier, JBL, HARMAN, Lenovo and other brands.

    CHIPSEA CSU32P20 8-bit RISC OTP MCU with 12-bit ADC, built-in 2K×16-bit OTP program memory, 104-byte SRAM, used for charging case function control.

    The charging case is a metal dome for charging earphones.


    02/ Baseus Bowie M2 earbuds teardown

    Enter the earphones disassembly section. Pry open the cavity along the earphone head parting line.

    The internal structure of the sound cavity includes speakers, microphones, and in-ear detection patches.

    A battery unit is arranged inside the rear cavity.

    The bottom of the rear cavity is sealed and isolated by a large amount of glue, and the components in the front cavity and the rear cavity are connected to the main board in the earphone handle through cables and wires.

    Take out the speaker, and there is an inward-facing microphone unit below.

    Remove the front chamber internal components.

    Pry open the back cover of the earphone handle, the internal structure of the cavity.

    The inner side of the cover is provided with a touch detection patch and a bluetooth antenna.

    The internal cable of the front cavity is connected with the main board through the BTB connector, and a sponge pad is set above the connector to fill it, which plays a fixed role.

    The positive and negative wires of the battery are welded on the motherboard.

    Capacitive in-ear detection patch, used to automatically pause when the earphone is removed, and automatically resume playback when the earphone is worn.

    The MEMS microphone of the laser carving R130 A510, from RAYKING, is used to pick up the sound of the noise cancelling function of the call.

    On the back of the speaker, there is a cable connection attached.

    Bluetrum BT8922H bluetooth audio SoC with built-in 32-bit high-performance CPU and DSP instructions. Equipped with high-performance stereo DAC and dual-channel high-performance ADC, it supports Hybrid ANC and sound plus DNN call algorithm. Built-in 16Mbit Flash, support customer APP and OTA upgrade. Support Bluetooth 5.2 and BLE specifications, support TWS communication, TWS master-slave switch. Supports AAC, mSBC audio decoding and low-power touch buttons and in-ear detection. It also integrates step-down and lithium battery charging functions, helping to achieve a streamlined earphone design.

    According to 52audio, the products of Baseus, Monster, HYMALAYA, NOME, Transsion, LeTV, AMOi, NOME, Lenovo, Philips, UGREEN, 360, Audio-Technica, Fantini, Defunc, Coocaa and other brands have adopted the Bluetrum solution.

    The crystal oscillator that provides the clock for the bluetooth chip.

    TianYiHeXin HX9023 touch detection IC integrates capacitive sensing AFE for specific absorption rate (SAR) applications. Support 1.8V power input, output data through I2C bus. The HX9023 supports up to three sensor inputs with offset compensation capacitors up to 400pF. HX9023 has high sensitivity and can detect human body approaching. Suitable for earphones and smart wearable products.

    03/ Summary

    The Baseus Bowie M2 charging case has a rounded square design with a pure white clean body. earphone is a handle-shaped in-ear design, weighing only 4.2g, with three different sizes of soft silicone eartips to provide a comfortable and stable wearing experience.

    In terms of internal structure and configuration, the charging case has a built-in YANJOO 400mAh battery and uses a Type-C interface for input power. The lithium battery is charged by the TPS SY8801 TWS earphone charging bin SOC, and has built-in full-function charging and discharging overvoltage, overcurrent, overtemperature, short circuit protection and other functions. Integrated I2C communication function and internal communication isolation function. CHIPSEA CSU32P20 MCU is also used for charging case function control.

    The earphone is equipped with a YANJOO 40mAh steel shell button battery, a 10mm dynamic driver, two MEMS microphones for a single earphone and a capacitive in-ear detection unit.
