    TOZO NC9 ANC Earbuds Teardown

    TOZO NC9 features a 10mm carbon fiber composite biological diaphragm dynamic driver, supporting BASS+ technology (bass enhancement) and TOZO OrigX acoustic tuning technology. It offers a low-latency gaming mode and comes with 32 preset EQ. The earbuds provide approximately 14 hours of playback on a single charge, with a total battery life of 52 hours including the charging case. The charging case is equipped with a digital display for clear battery level information.

    TOZO NC9 Earbuds

    The TOZO NC9 incorporates active noise cancellation (ANC) technology, supporting 6 noise cancellation modes with a maximum noise cancellation depth of -45dB. It also allows for 10 levels of customizable noise cancellation depth to meet personalized needs. Additionally, it features 6-MIC ENC call noise cancellation, which accurately identifies and suppresses background noise to ensure clear calls.

    We have previously disassembled other TOZO products, including the TOZO Open EarRing, TOZO NC7, TOZO NC2, TOZO T12, TOZO T9, and TOZO T6. Below is a detailed teardown report of the TOZO NC9.

    01/ TOZO NC9 Charging Case Teardown

    Disassemble the charging case and take out the charging bin structure. The front of the charging bin is equipped with a digital display.

    Take out the battery, fix the motherboard below with screws, and solder the battery wires to the motherboard.

    Remove the screws and remove the motherboard. There are magnets at the bottom of the charging bin to fix the earbuds.

    The circuit on one side of the charging case motherboard.

    Bluetooth pairing button and Type-C charging port.

    SinhMicro SS88D8H Power MCU, belonging to the SS88DX series, is a charging bin SoC chip that integrates OVP, Charger, Boost and MCU. SS88DX comprehensively improves charging efficiency and user experience through innovative design, bringing more efficient, smarter and safer solutions to the industry.

    Power management chip peripheral power inductor and resistor with silkscreen R020.

    The motherboard is vertically welded with a small board, which has a digital display and Hall element. LED digital display screen, supports charging case battery percentage, and independent battery display for left and right earbuds.

    The Hall element with silkscreen hc is used to sense the change of magnetic field when the earbuds enter or exit the charging case, and then notify the charging case MCU and the earbuds to pair or disconnect with the connected device.

    The information on the label of the built-in lithium battery in the charging case is rechargeable lithium-ion battery, model: 902030, nominal voltage: 3.7V, rated capacity: 500mAh 1.85Wh, from PATL.

    The battery protection board is equipped with lithium battery protection IC, MOS tube and thermistor.

    The lithium battery protection IC with silkscreen DW01H is responsible for overcharge, overdischarge and overcurrent protection of the battery. The MOS tube with silkscreen 8205A works with DW01H IC.


    02/ TOZO NC9 Earbuds Teardown

    Disassemble the earbud cavity. The rear cavity is equipped with a Bluetooth antenna and a touch detection patch. The microphone pickup hole is equipped with an acoustic rubber cover to improve the sound reception effect.

    The motherboard and battery unit are fixed by a bracket inside the front cavity.

    The motherboard unit is connected to the FPC through a BTB connector.

    Remove and separate the motherboard and battery.

    The earbuds has a built-in soft-pack button battery, model: PATL 1254, nominal voltage: 3.7V, rated capacity: 55mAh 0.204Wh, from PATL.

    The circuit on one side of the earbud motherboard.

    The circuit on the other side of the earbud motherboard.

    The metal copper column connected to the charging case is equipped with a rubber ring to seal and waterproof.

    The MEMS microphone of the laser engraving CB02 is a feedforward noise cancellation microphone.

    iCM CM1126B-GAC with shipping mode two-in-one battery protection IC.

    BES BES2600IHC3-4X Bluetooth audio SoC, supports BT5.3 specification. It uses dual-core Arm MCU, equipped with BES AI call noise cancellation algorithm and hybrid ANC noise cancellation algorithm, and has power consumption as low as 4.5mA.

    26.000MHz crystal oscillator provides clock for Bluetooth chip.

    The MEMS microphone of laser engraving NXD15 is a call microphone. IC with silkscreen 3AMCS 5ZDZB.

    LED indicator for feedback of wireless connection and charging status.

    Metal dome connecting Bluetooth antenna and touch detection patch.

    BTB connector female socket connected to FPC.

    IC with silkscreen 3Gb 04.

    Speaker structure inside the front cavity.

    Take out the rubber bracket, and the end of the FPC is connected to the feed-back noise cancellation microphone inside the sound outlet.

    Take out the FPC and components inside the front cavity.

    Speaker and feed-back noise cancellation microphone FPC circuit.

    The speaker FPC is connected to the BTB connector male socket of the motherboard.

    After actual measurement, the speaker diameter is about 10mm.

    The MEMS microphone of the laser engraving CB02 is a feed-back noise cancellation microphone.

    All components of the TOZO NC9 true wireless noise cancellation earphones.


    03/ Summary

    The TOZO NC9 continues the series’ design style. The square charging case is compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry. It features an LED digital display, providing users with more intuitive feedback on the remaining battery level. The earbuds adopt a bean-shaped in-ear design.

    The charging case is equipped with a PATL 500mAh lithium battery. The mainboard incorporates the Sinhmicro SS88D8H Power MCU, integrating OVP, charger, boost, and MCU functions. All I/Os support high-current drive capability, ensuring clear display of the charging case’s digital battery level.

    Inside the earbuds is a 10mm dynamic driver. They also come with three built-in MEMS microphones for voice calls and noise-canceling sound pickup. The earbuds are powered by a PATL 55mAh soft-pack button battery, with the iCM CM1126B-GAC battery protection IC responsible for charge and discharge protection.
