Appearance Design

The overall line of the charging case is smooth, the Soundcore brand logo is in the middle of the upper cover, and there is a circular indicator light at the opening of the cover. The surface is made of frosted material, the shape of the space capsule, and the level of appearance surpasses all the game earbuds. On the back is the shaft connecting the upper and lower parts, and there is a function button below. At the bottom is the Type-C charging interface.

The earbuds are placed vertically on the left and right, and can be worn directly after being taken out. The inside of the upper cover is the dongle storage place, which is fixed by magnetic suction, and the centralized storage is convenient to carry and not easy to lose.

The earbuds adopt a handle-shaped in-ear design, the outside of the headset stem is silver, and the rest is white. The contrasting color design is quite individual, and it can also enhance the appearance recognition of the product.

The top of the headset stem is the Soundcore brand logo, and this area integrates touch functions. The lower end is a strip light with holes, and the lighting effects can be customized on the Soundcore APP. There are charging contacts and L/R logo on the inside of the headset stem.

The left side of the dongle is the indicator light, and the middle is the brand logo. On the right is the Type-C input port, which can also charge the device at the same time when using the dongle.

After actual measurement, the total weight of Soundcore VR P10 is about 62.3g, and the weight of a single earbud is about 5.3g. With the proper cavity design, the wearing experience is comfortable and comfortable. Plus, the dongle weighs only 3.6g.

Connectivity & Battery Life

Soundcore VR P10 adopts Bluetooth 5.2 technology, which has good compatibility and stable connection. In the state of bluetooth connection, AAC audio decoding is supported, and more sound details can be preserved when listening to audio.

When connecting for the first time, just select “Soundcore VR P10” in the bluetooth device list on your phone to connect quickly. Open the charging case for subsequent use to connect to a successfully paired bluetooth device. The earbud can be charged when it is placed in the charging case, and the connection is automatically disconnected when the cover is closed. The earbuds are stably connected to the mobile phone within a distance of 10 meters. In a scene without obstacles, the connection starts to appear intermittent when the distance from the mobile phone is more than 11 meters.

Connecting via a dongle is even easier. Plug it directly into the USB-C port of the audio device to transmit the sound to earbuds. No driver downloads, software or pairing required. And not only VR headsets, but also various devices such as mobile phones, tablets, notebooks, desktop computers, PS and Switch are compatible, and you can also get a consistent ultra-low latency experience.

Facing the needs of multi-device use, Soundcore VR P10 supports up to 4 dongles to switch between. You only need to install dongles for commonly used devices, and you can switch between them with one button on the APP. At the same time, the bluetooth connection between the mobile phone and earbuds is not affected, which is equivalent to a pair of earbuds through bluetooth and dongle, which can be used with 5 devices at the same time.

Use a portable power tester to conduct a wired charging test on the Soundcore VR P10, and the charging power is about 2.29W. The earbuds have a single battery life of up to 6 hours, the charging case can provide an additional 18 hours of battery life, and the overall comprehensive battery life can reach up to 24 hours.

Comfort & Latency & Sound Quality

In the experience of using the connected VR headset, I chose Pico Neo 3 to pair with Soundcore VR P10. There is a Type-C port on the top of the Pico Neo 3 body, and the dongle can be plugged directly into it to work normally.

The semi-in-ear design of earbuds takes into account good comfort and stability in wearing, and it is not easy to cause discomfort when worn for a long time. Free movement will not fall when experiencing VR games. The design that fits the ear canal can also provide a certain passive noise reduction performance, making the experience more immersive.

The actual test effect is also the same as mentioned at the beginning. The latency of less than 30ms brought by LightningSync️ technology makes the wireless listening experience truly comparable to the wired connection. During the whole experience, whether it is music, video or game sound effects, there is no obvious perceived latency. The audio and video are synchronized, the connection is stable, and it is easy to fully immerse yourself in this wonderful experience.

The sound quality performance is also remarkable. Thanks to the high-quality audio transmission of the built-in 11mm dynamic driver and LC3 codec, the sound of the Soundcore VR P10 is quite good. The sound field is wide, the sound is full and layered, and the details are restored in place, which can meet the needs of daily audio-visual entertainment. In addition, there is BassUp low-frequency enhancement technology, which makes the bass extension deeper and the sound more dynamic and atmospheric.

In addition, the left and right earbuds are each equipped with two microphones, which can effectively filter background noise, accurately pick up human voices, and the call effect is pure and clear. The earbuds that support IPX4 waterproof are also enough to cope with daily sweat and rain, whether it is VR games, fitness or outdoor sports, don’t worry.

Conclusion

In terms of appearance design, the first storage method of dongle + earbuds solves the problem of dongle storage and carrying. The advantage of supporting direct connection to device charging has greatly alleviated the battery life anxiety of some VR headsets.

In terms of functional experience, the customized Bluetooth 5.2 chip and the LightningSync️ technology supported by LC3 codec bring a senseless latency of less than 30ms. The 2.4GHz wireless connector is widely compatible and supports multi-device one-key switching and many other advantages, which further lowers the threshold for obtaining non-inductive latency. The feature that the dongle and bluetooth can be used at the same time takes into account usage scenarios such as voice calls.

If you don’t like to use wired earphones when playing games, and have higher requirements for audio equipment in terms of latency, compatibility and convenience. The Soundcore VR P10, which is specially designed for these needs, will not let you down.
