Appearance Design, Comfort and Battery Life

Soundcore Space One is made of matte material, giving it the “macaron-colored” fashionable look.

The headphone headbeam is made of flexible material, and the outside is wrapped with soft sponge, which feels like skin. The contact area between the inner side of the headbeam and the top of the head is also filled with sponge to ensure a comfortable wearing experience. The connection between the headbeam and the earmuffs uses a retractable structure, and the structure is integrated with the outer part of the earmuffs – the surface is coated with a metal-like material. In addition to being retractable, the headphones can also be folded inward for easy storage.

The earmuffs are made of skin-like material and filled with sponge, making them very comfortable to the touch. The inside is made of mesh and is engraved with the L/R logo. In addition, there is a sensor on the inside of the left earcup for detecting the wearing status (in-ear detection) to realize the function of taking off the headphones to pause music.

The left headphone has a Type-C charging port, 3.5mm headphone jack, power button and NC button (noise canceling). The right headphone is equipped with media control buttons.

Soundcore Space One weighs approximately 260g, laying the foundation for a comfortable wearing of the headphones. The headbeam adopts a two-stage design of brushed and frosted, and the length can be adjusted to meet the needs of different head shapes. A very soft and elastic filling material is used between the headbeam and the top of the head, which can effectively reduce the pressure caused by the head beam on the top of the head. The earmuffs are designed with a 15° tilt, which is convenient for users who wear glasses.

The battery capacity of the headphones is 580mAh, with a single battery life of up to 40 hours (ANC ON) and 55 hours (ANC OFF). In addition, Space One support fast charging function – charging for 5 minutes and listening to music for 4 hours.

Connectivity, App and Controls

In factory condition, long press the power button for 3 seconds to power on the headphones into pairing mode. Select “soundcore Space One” in the bluetooth list of your phone to complete the pairing. The headphones uses the Bluetooth 5.3 chip and supports SBC/AAC/LDAC codec.

At this point, select Soundcore Space One as the output in the system’s audio output, and it will work normally. Also, Space One support multi-point connection, which can connect two bluetooth devices.

Soundcore Space One also support the free Soundcore App. After opening the app, the headphones will be automatically recognized and connected. After the connection is successful, you can set advanced settings such as ambient sound (noise canceling, normal, transparent mode), smart conversation mode, soundcore sound effect (22 preset EQ), and wearing detection in the App.

In terms of operation control, the headphone control method can be adjusted through the mobile phone system and Soundcore App, or controlled through the control buttons.

The button on the left headphone can adjust the noise canceling function, while the button on the right headphone includes different operations such as song switch, play/pause, volume adjustment, and answer call. The control scheme is quite comprehensive and very easy to get started with.

In addition, Soundcore Space One also support 3.5mm wired connection. In wired connection mode, audio signals are transmitted in analog form with higher fidelity. Therefore, friends who have higher requirements for sound quality can try to listen in wired mode.

Space One Noise Canceling Review

I switched the Active Noise Canceling to the maximum level (5-level) in the app to test the extreme noise canceling performance of the headphones.

At the maximum noise canceling level, Active Noise Cancellation is very good and can significantly reduce most mid-frequency and low-frequency noise in the environment – such as talking sound, car and subway engine sounds, etc. There is also some suppression of high-frequency noise (vocals, keyboard clicks, etc.) – although the effect is not very good, but it is still usable.

In addition to manually adjusting the noise canceling intensity, Soundcore Space One also has an adaptive ANC function. In the adaptive mode, the headphones can switch the noise canceling mode in real time according to the external environmental noise. For example, deep noise canceling is turned on in a noisy commuting environment. In a quieter office environment, light noise canceling will be automatically turned on to avoid ear pressure caused by excessive noise canceling.

Space One also support transparent mode and has five ambient sound levels to choose from. There is also a new anti-wind noise mode, which can reduce the impact of wind noise when there is wind. Soundcore Space One also uses an intelligent AI noise canceling algorithm to recognize vocal and improve call clarity.

Overall, the Soundcore Space One’s ANC function is usable – providing a relatively quiet, immersive listening experience in noisy environments. It is very practical if you need to listen to music frequently in commuting scenarios.

Space One Sound Quality Review

Soundcore Space One adopts a new acoustic configuration in hardware – 40mm large dynamic driver and supports AAC and LDAC encoding.

In wireless connection mode, the 40mm large dynamic driver brings high resolution and excellent dynamic range. The bass is extended deep and the drums are powerful. The mid-frequency and high-frequency are clear and transparent – the sound is layered and detailed.

With the Soundcore App, in addition to customizing EQ, you can also turn on a hidden function – Soundcore Hear ID. After wearing the headphones and testing in the app, the app will generate a personalized EQ plan based on the test results to help users find the sound that best suits them.

In general, Soundcore Space One uses the 40mm large dynamic driver to take advantage of the large size of over-ear headphones very well – with high resolution and dynamic listening experience.

Conclusion

Soundcore Space One is an over-ear wireless headphones that combines comfort, sound quality, noise canceling and fast charging – especially suitable for users who need to wear headphones for a long time.
