Recently, the Rapoo tws headset series has added a new product——Rapoo Ti100. It is easy to confuse the name with the previous Rapoo i100. However, the new product this time is not only the addition of the letter T, it is also functionally different from the Rapoo i100. In addition to the upgrade to Realtek Bluetooth 5.1 on the chip, the biggest difference from i100, vm700, and xs200 tws headsets is that Ti100 has more ANC (active noise reduction) function and APT transparent mode. In addition, there are Qi wireless charging, IPX5 waterproof and other functions, let’s take a look at the specific performance of Rapoo Ti100.

Package

The outer packaging is a white hard carton, which is very weighty in your hand. The overall white printing style is simple and refreshing, and the front is a rendering of a pair of headphones, so that players have a clear understanding of the appearance of the product.

On the back of the package, you can see that this headset has two colors, white and black.

The packaging is opened with the upper and lower lids, and the lid is a bit tight. I kind of understand what the extra white note is for this time. When I just opened it, I can help to open the upper cover.

The earphone charging case and accessories are wrapped in a translucent plastic bag, and then embedded in a thick sponge mold, which is well protected. The two sides of the charging case also leave a finger grasping position, and the details are in place.

The accessories have two pairs of eartips, two pairs of shark fins (earwings), a white Type-C charging cable, and instructions.

White Type-C charging cable.

Together with the default eartips of the earphone itself, players have a total of three pairs of S/M/L size eartips and matching shark fins. The purpose is to allow different players to have a comfortable wearing feeling.

Rapoo Ti100 earbuds are available in black and white. The one I got is white, so the corresponding charging case is also white. The size of the charging case is a bit large, weighing about 58g. The bottom edge of the top cover of the charging case has a silver gray circle, which looks simple and elegant overall. Although the charging case is made of plastic, the surface is painted with a matte texture, and the silver-gray spray paint on the bottom edge gives the charging case a metallic texture. In the center of the charging case is the silver spray paint of the Rapoo brand LOGO, which is very eye-catching.

The silver-gray paint is designed with 4 indicator lights. When the upper cover is opened and closed, the white indicator lights will light up, allowing users to have an intuitive perception of the remaining battery power.

The Type-C charging interface of the charging case is designed on the back. This small notch seems to ruin the overall beauty, mainly because the charging case supports Qi wireless charging, and the charging position is located at the bottom.

The charging case is opened with a flip-up lid, and the earphone is stored and fixed in a magnetic manner. After opening the cover, it supports automatic matching. After the headset is placed, close the cover, and support automatic disconnection and charging of the device.

The magnetic suction port and the charging contacts are on both sides of the charging case, the charging compartment is not deep, and there is a certain position in the middle to facilitate finger insertion. Therefore, the earphone is very convenient to hold and put, and it is more user-friendly.

Rapoo Ti100 earbuds are very small, weighing about 7g. The charging contacts of the earphones just leave the factory are also protected by an insulating protective film. The earphones look very round and have the feel of a spaceship. Rapoo Ti100 is made of white frosted plastic material, which is very comfortable to hold in your hand.

The metal CD concentric design makes the Rapoo Ti100 look very textured. This is not the first time that Rapoo has used this element, and this area is also the touch area of the Rapoo Ti100 earbuds. Many operations of the headset need to be realized by touching here. I think this design is very successful and very useful. I have used a TWS headset before, and the touch area is not intuitive and obvious, and new users will be a little bit at a loss to get started. Below the concentric circles are the microphone hole and the indicator light.

The magnetic suction port on the inside of Rapoo Ti100 earphones has the L/R logo of the earphone on the magnetic suction port, which is easy for players to identify. In addition, there is also a microphone hole on the inside, which is also the ANC feature of the Rapoo Ti100. It can better sample the environmental noise through two microphones inside and outside, and then eliminate it through the algorithm to achieve the purpose of noise reduction.

Rapoo Ti100 earphones use a 9mm high-performance composite diaphragm speaker unit.

Silicone eartips and earwings can be easily removed and replaced, and there are raised hooks on the earphones to make them more stable.

The cavity of the Rapoo Ti100 earphones is ergonomic and can fit the auricle better, and with the cooperation of earwings, the player can wear it comfortably and firmly. I tried it myself, and the earphones won’t fall out even with large movements and normal jumping, which is more reassuring. Users can also choose two other pairs of silicone eartips and earwings of different sizes according to their auricles. Rapoo Ti100 also has a practical function, it supports IPX5 waterproof. It seems that the official positioning and use of the headset is not only for the office environment and commuting, but also for light exercise users, coping with slight sweating.

The headset uses Realtek’s Realtek8773 Bluetooth 5.1 chip. The pairing connection is smart and convenient, without too much operation. After opening the cover, the device can recognize the headset. Click Connect and pair to complete the product connection. When you use it again in the future, the headset can be automatically connected and paired. At this time, it can be judged by the indicator light or by the voice reminder in the headset.

The operation of the earphones is all solved through the metal touch area of the earphones, and I think the design of Rapoo in touch is very user-friendly, very easy to remember and understand, and the operation of the left and right earphones is the same, reducing the user’s learning cost. For example:

  • Click to answer/hang up calls and play/pause music.
  • Double-click to switch between APT and ANC on/off modes.
  • Three-clicks to bring up the voice assistant
  • Four-click to turn on low-latency game mode
  • Long press for 2 seconds to reject the call or switch songs

Rapoo Ti100 earphones are equipped with a 60mAh battery that supports 6 hours of battery life. This battery life is really amazing, much longer than the 3 or 4 hours of ordinary earphones, and it can be automatically charged when it is placed in the charging case. The charging case battery capacity is 1000 mAh, which can provide 30 hours of battery life, which is enough to meet the needs of heavy users. And the charging case supports Qi protocol wireless charging.

The ANC function of the Rapoo Ti100 headset and the APT transparency function are both practical and effective. In terms of noise reduction, I think the headset itself has a certain degree of physical noise reduction, because after wearing the headset, the surrounding environment sound is immediately reduced. After ANC is turned on, thanks to the sampling and algorithm of the front and rear dual microphone holes, its lowest noise reduction depth can reach about -25dB.

In actual use, the earphone has an obvious noise reduction effect on car sounds, air-conditioning sounds, fan sounds, and other low- and medium-frequency noises, and the noise disappears naturally, and the ears are not uncomfortable. I think there is only a slight blocking feeling. When APT is turned on, the noise reduction of the earphone is the opposite, like noise increase, the outside sound becomes louder. The headset is mainly used to receive external sounds through a microphone. It is mainly used to wear the headset to chat face-to-face with people around without being affected.

Rapoo Ti100 supports game mode. In game mode, the delay of the headset is less than 80ms, which can be said to be enough to meet the needs of gamers. In the actual test, I used Game For Peace to test. In the game, I didn’t feel any delay or lag, and any sound could be transmitted to my ears in time. My own gunshots and footsteps do not have the feeling of slow shots, and the effect of listening to the sound position is also very good.

The earphone uses a 9mm high-performance composite diaphragm speaker unit, which has good expressive power in music. Listening to popular music such as Blue Lotus and Love Existence, the permeability of the headphones in the high frequency part is not bad, and the performance is relatively satisfactory. The performance in the mid-low frequency is even better, the mid-frequency is delicate and warm, the human voice, especially the female voice, is clear and fit, the low-frequency is thick and flexible, and the sinking volume is sufficient.

Summary:

Advantage

  • ANC function and APT transparent mode, the effect is good.
  • Qi wireless charging, IPX5 waterproof and other functions, full-featured.
  • Less than 80ms “non-inductive delay” performance, suitable for gaming.
  • The headset touch is humanized, reducing the cost of learning.

Shortcoming

  • The charging case is too large and it is a bit uncomfortable to carry around.
