Marshall Motif ANC vs. Marshall Motif II ANC. As you can see, except for the different position of the logo, the rest is basically the same.

Marshall Motif II ANC earbuds inherit the design style of Motif ANC, and the earbuds are designed with short ear stem. The ear stem is designed with texture, which will show a plaid effect as the light changes.

The inside of the earbud cavity adopts a ring-shaped thread design, and the center of the thread is the pickup microphone hole. There is also an in-ear detection sensor installed near the speaker.

Marshall Motif II ANC earbuds are very light in weight, and with the rounded cavity design, when the earbuds are placed in the auricle, they will not bring a lot of pressure or foreign body sensation to the ears.

In addition, the earbuds will not protrude much from the ears when worn, ensuring firmness and comfort when worn.

Connectivity, App and Control

Marshall Motif II ANC uses Bluetooth 5.3 connection protocol, and after future updates, when used with compatible bluetooth devices, it will support the latest low-power audio technology (LE Audio) – with low power consumption, high stability, and strong connectivity characteristic.

When connecting for the first time, opening the charging case cover will enter the connection pairing mode. At this time, select “Motif II A.N.C.” in the bluetooth device list of your phone to complete the connection and pairing.

Marshall Motif II ANC support the Marshall Bluetooth App for Android and iOS. In the App, you can see the real-time remaining power status of the headset. You can also adjust noise reduction mode, adaptive EQ, touch control, interactive sound, in-ear detection, and more.

The control area of Motif II ANC is at the “M” logo, and supports recognition of single-tap, double-tap, and long press. In the App, users can choose between “standard” and “simple” control modes, and can also choose to customize or even turn off the touch control.

Noise Cancellation and Battery Life

Compared with Marshall Motif ANC, the Active Noise Cancellation function of Motif II ANC has been further enhanced.

Marshall Motif II ANC earbuds have certain passive noise cancellation capabilities – after turning on ANC, ambient noise can be effectively suppressed. The overall noise cancellation depth reaches the current mainstream level among ANC earbuds. Available, but not the best.

In daily commuting, the earbuds can significantly reduce mid- and low-frequency noise in the environment (subway operation noise, car tire noise, etc.). It also has a certain suppression effect on mid- and high-frequency noise (vocals, keyboard sounds, etc.), creating a relatively quiet listening environment.

Also, Marshall Motif II ANC also support Transparency Mode (TRA), which allows external sounds to penetrate into the earbuds to meet specific scenarios. For example, there are ambient sound listening needs in scenarios such as face-to-face communication and outdoor sports.

The battery capacity of the charging case is 620mAh, which is currently unknown for the earbuds. The single battery life after turning off ANC mode is up to 9 hours, and the total battery life is up to 43 hours. After turning on ANC mode is up to 6 hours, and the total battery life is up to 30 hours. Also, the Marshall Motif II ANC support wireless charging.

Marshall Motif II ANC Sound Quality Review

The sound quality of Marshall Motif II ANC inherits the excellent level of the previous model. The 6mm dynamic driver and custom tuning system bring shock hearing.

Just like its “rock” genes, the sound style of Motif II ANC is also biased towards pop rock – the earbuds’ sound presentation focuses on low-frequency performance. The low-frequency is solid and powerful, and the instrumental music has clear layers – especially the guitar timbre, which is particularly beautiful and natural. The overall soundstage is wide and has a strong presencing.

Also, the EQ can be customized through the Marshall Bluetooth App. The app also presets 4 EQ modes: Bass Boost, Mids Boost, Treble Boost, Mids Reduction – which can be adjusted according to your own preferences.

Conclusion

The Marshall Motif II ANC with rock genes not only has a retro appearance, but also has very good sounding, battery life and noise canceling experience. If you prefer listening to rock music, Marshall Motif II ANC will be a good choice.
