The functions of Creative Sensemore Air are very comprehensive, including ambient mode with great practicality, ANC mode and Super X-Fi holographic technology, which left a deep impression on me. Objectively speaking, apart from not supporting dual-device connection, this tws earbuds is almost impeccable.

Plastic appearance, designed without highlights
Creative Sensemore Air charging case adopts matte frosting process, pure black makes it look low-key and professional, and the rounded shape neutralizes the rigidity brought by black itself. The top of the charging case is the Creative brand logo, and there is a Type-C charging interface on the back.
There are three LED indicators on the front of the charging case, which can display the remaining power of the earbuds and the charging case in three colors: red, yellow, and green.
The shape of the earbuds is very similar to the Creative Outlier Air V2. The round touch panel on the outside has a high-gloss design, which contrasts sharply with the matte material of the rest. The touch panel is capacitive rather than push-type, and the control can be completed with a light touch. For the touch control scheme, we can also set it in the Creative App.
There is a circle of LED light rings on the outside of the touch panel, which will display red when charging, alternately flashing red and blue when pairing, automatically turn off after the connection is successful, and flash blue when the connection is disconnected.
The earbuds adopt an ergonomic oblique in-ear design. The entire anterior cavity shows a transition from wide to narrow, so the catheter is very short. The earbuds support IPX5 waterproof rating, which can effectively block rain and sweat.
Only in terms of design and workmanship, Creative Sensemore Air is actually relatively mediocre. Especially the plastic feeling of the charging case is very strong. Put together with Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro and Edifier Retro Pro, the level of appearance of Sensemore Air is obviously inferior.
Comfortable to wear and stable connection
Because the inside of the cavity adopts a skin-friendly frosting process, and the weight of a single earbud is only 5.2g. Although it is not completely senseless to wear, Sensemore Air is still considered to be a true wireless earphones with relatively comfortable wearing. Continuous use for 1.5 hours will not cause obvious discomfort.
The earbuds use Bluetooth 5.2 technology, the stability is slightly better than the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro, and there has been no disconnection in the three weeks I have used it.When listening to songs and watching videos with earbuds, there is no out-of-sync audio and video. But there is still a slight lag when playing games. Normal racing games are fine, but the impact is more pronounced when playing shooters.
Noise cancellation is excellent, Sensemore mode is amazing
Creative Sensemore Air supports up to 5 levels of ANC, which users can adjust in the Creative App. Because the recent situation is not convenient to go out and take transportation, I use Vifa Stockholm speakers to play the noise of various scenes including subway, bus, and downtown.
After actual measurement, after adjusting to the highest level of noise reduction, more than 95% of low-frequency noise can be eliminated, and it can also weaken human voice and high-frequency noise to a certain extent. The overall noise canceling ability is obviously better than that of Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro and Edifier Retro Pro, but there is still a certain gap compared with BOSE QuietComfort Earbuds II. It is commendable that Sensemore Air did not produce significant ear pressure after turning on the noise reduction, which will not greatly affect the comfort.
The ambient mode of this earbuds is similar to the transparent mode of other true wireless earphones. It transmits the sound in the environment to the ear through the pickup microphone on the outside of the earbuds, achieving a monitoring effect similar to that of not wearing headphones. And what really sets the Sensemore Air apart is the sensemore mode. This mode selectively amplifies the sounds in the environment, allowing the user to perceive everything that is happening around them more clearly.
Through actual measurement, the working principle of sensemore mode is somewhat similar to hearing aids. It is by enhancing the human voice and amplifying the sound waves in the environment, so that we can have a clear dialogue and communication with others in any environment. Even the music playing in the earbuds will not interfere with the conversation. I use earbuds in the office to listen to music at a moderate volume, and I can also talk to colleagues around me without any obstacles.
The sensemore mode also provides 5 optional levels, the higher the level, the more the ambient sound will be amplified. For users without hearing impairment, it is completely sufficient to turn it on to level 1 when not listening to music, and turn it to level 2-3 when listening to music. After level 4-5, the ambient sound will be too loud, and the traces of digital processing are very heavy, which will affect the sense of hearing. Especially when it is opened to level 5 outdoors, the breeze is enough to produce an unpleasant whistling sound in the ear. Of course, for friends with mild hearing impairment, the sensemore mode can actually function as a hearing aid after turning on a higher level.
I personally think that it is enough for ordinary people to turn on the ambient mode, and the sensemore mode is more suitable for users with slight hearing impairment. Moreover, switching between noise reduction mode, sensemore mode, and ambient sound mode can be completed only through the touch area of earbuds.
Super X-Fi & Battery Life
Creative Sensemore Air supports self-developed Super X-Fi audio processing technology. It is based on the 3D modeling of the user’s head and ears, and digitally processes the audio, allowing the user to obtain a sense of hearing similar to a multi-channel speaker system when using headphones. Usually, Super X-Fi needs to use the SXFI Ultra DSP chip with super computing power to realize it, but Sensemore Air does not have this chip built in, and it is completely realized by software computing. Although it can also simulate the effect of a home theater, the density of the sound will be greatly reduced, and the sense of hearing cannot always be improved.
And because the SXFI App does not integrate any streaming music services, you can only experience the sound effects of Super X-Fi when playing local music in your phone. For users who want to experience the full functionality of Super X-Fi, it is recommended to purchase the SXFI series of headphones.
The earbuds have a single battery life of up to 10 hours, and the combined battery life with the charging case is up to 35 hours. Although such a battery life can only be achieved when the ANC mode and sensemore mode are turned off, it can fully meet the needs of ordinary people for travel.
The earbuds is equipped with a Type-C charging cable and also supports Qi wireless charging. In an emergency, we can directly use the reverse wireless charging function of the mobile phone to quickly charge the Sensemore Air.
Sound Quality of Sensemore Air
Creative Sensemore Air uses a 6mm bio-fiber drive unit with a frequency response range of 20~20kHz, which can only be regarded as a very common configuration in terms of parameters. The earbuds supports SBC and AAC codec, does not support aptX, LDAC.
But the actual sense of hearing, the performance of Sensemore Air actually exceeded my expectations. Although the tuning of the earbuds is slightly flat, thanks to the tri-frequency equalization, it can restore the music to a greater extent. The low-frequency quantity sense of the sound is sufficient, and it also has a certain extension, which can create an excellent sense of atmosphere.
The mid-frequency part is clear and full of layers, the position of the vocal is relatively moderate, and the sense of envelopment of the instrument is very sufficient. The high-frequency is bright and open, rich in details, and the part extended to the extremely high frequency has been reasonably attenuated, so it will not feel harsh when playing at high volume.
Listen to Lenny Kravitz’s “Low”, whether it is the percussion instrument at the beginning of the song or the synthesized electronic sound in the middle, they are all presented appropriately. The human voice can always penetrate through the complex instrument sound, and the separation and positioning of various sounds are very clear.
Compared to the two high-end true wireless earphones I’ve used before, the Creative Sensemore Air has an overall better listening experience than the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro. Compared with Edifier Neobuds Pro with hybrid driver and DSP, although the tri-frequency is more balanced, Sensemore Air is still inferior in terms of resolution.
Compared to the two high-end true wireless earphones I’ve used before, the Creative Sensemore Air has an overall better listening experience than the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro. Compared with Edifier Neobuds Pro with hybrid driver and DSP, although Sensemore Air is more balanced in terms of tri-frequency, its resolution is still much inferior.
