Appearance Design, Comfort and Battery Life

The charging case is made of matte black transparent material with a bronze interior. The transparency will be better under strong outdoor light, which looks very interesting. The Creative Aurvana Ace 2 earbuds adopt a similar structure to AirPods Pro and have an in-ear design. Black transparent shell with bronze decoration echoes the charging case.

The total weight of Aurvana Ace 2 is about 47g, and a single earbud weighs about 4.7g – no weight-bearing feeling when worn for a long time. The earbuds are IPX5 waterproof, so you don’t have to worry about sweat when exercising or running.

The bottom of the charging case is equipped with a USB-C charging interface, pairing button, and LED status indicator. The red light indicates 0-30% power, the yellow light indicates 31%-70% power, and the green light indicates 71%-100% power.

The battery capacity of the charging case is 470mAh, and the earbud is 52mAh. The single battery life after turning off ANC mode is up to 6 hours, and the total battery life is up to 24 hours. The battery life after turning on ANC mode is about 4 hours. The case charges using USB-C or Qi wireless charging.

Connectivity, App Support and Control

The earbuds uses Bluetooth 5.3 LE Audio technology and supports Aptx, Aptx Lossless, Aptx Adaptive, LC3, AAC and SBC codec. When connecting for the first time, simply select “Aurvana Ace 2” in your phone’s bluetooth device list for a quick connection. When using it again, open the lid to connect the successfully paired bluetooth device.

The Creative Aurvana Ace 2 supports the Creative App for Android and iOS systems – once you install and open the app, it automatically connects to the earbuds. The App can check the remaining power, equalizer, environmental control (noise cancellation mode), and custom touch control.

The control scheme is comprehensive:

  • Double-tap L or R earbud: answer/hang up call
  • Long press L or R earbud 2s: reject call
  • Double-tap R earbud: play/pause music
  • Double-tap L earbud: ANC/Ambient mode switching
  • Long press L/R earbud 2s: volume-/volume+
  • Triple-tap earbud: next track
  • Triple-tap L earbud: activate voice assistant
  • Long press L or R earbud 6s: power on

Calls and ANC Noise Cancelling

For calls, the Creative Aurvana Ace 2 is equipped with 6 microphones (3 on a single earbud); combined with Qualcomm cVc intelligent noise cancellation technology, it can ensure a clear call experience.

Also, the Aurvana Ace 2 supports Adaptive ANC Mode and Ambient Mode, which can be turned on through the Creative App or earbuds. However, the absolute noise cancelling ability of Aurvana Ace 2 is not very strong. The noise cancelling effect is still very good when used in offices, coffee shops, study rooms, and gyms. However, if they are used in scenes such as subways and airplanes where the operating noise is relatively loud and there are sharp noises, their noise cancelling capabilities can only be considered mid-level.

Video and Game Playback

The Creative Aurvana Ace 2 plays videos without issues on both Android and iPhone. There’s lipsync performance in video apps like YouTube and Apple TV.

The Aurvana Ace 2 also has a dedicated low-latency mode you can activate from the Android and iPhone App. This helps to synchronize the sound effects with the action on your screen.

Sound Quality of Creative Aurvana Ace 2

Creative Aurvana Ace 2 is equipped with xMEMS speaker and 10mm dynamic driver – the xMEMS speaker is responsible for handling high-frequency sounds, and the dynamic driver is responsible for handling low-frequency and mid-frequency sounds.

Also, the Aurvana Ace 2 supports Aptx Lossless and Snapdragon Sound, providing 16bit/44.1kHz high-fidelity audio – a Bluetooth device is required to support Snapdragon Sound.

The mid-frequency vocals are real and natural, with accurate restoration, clear imaging, wide soundstage and strong immersion. The low-frequency quantity is sufficient and extends deeply, but it is still somewhat restrained.

What is particularly outstanding is the high-frequency restoration ability. When listening to guzheng and guitar tracks, the tone is bright, transparent, delicate, and the transient performance is excellent.

Overall, whether it is the true restoration of tri-frequency details, high resolution and accurate soundstage positioning, it performs very well. The tuning of Creative Aurvana Ace 2 tends to be in the HiFi pop style, so it can be perfectly suited for listening to pop vocals or jazz rock.

Conclusion

Creative Aurvana Ace 2 is highly adaptable and can be used on Android, iOS, and Windows devices with bluetooth capabilities – but it is more recommended for mobile phone users with Qualcomm Snapdragon platform. In this way, you can fully enjoy Snapdragon Sound technology and aptX Lossless, and experience CD-level lossless sound quality.
