The two extremes in the earphone circle are nothing more than entry-level earphones for mass entertainment and flagship earphones for enthusiasts’ picky ears. The former emphasizes comfort, ease of use, high quality and low price. The latter’s more premium space lies in the improvement of the sense of hearing and the sense of immersion in it under the configuration function. As a brand established in 2015, BGVP has always been a low-key developer among many brands in China. However, its flat-head earplugs and the high-end DM series have been well received in the earphone circle. Especially in the past two years, the product line has become more abundant, and the brand awareness has been understood by more and more people along with its high cost performance. At the end of this year, the flagship BGVP DM8 of the year is finally on the market. It uses an eight-armature four-way crossover design. After more than a month of use experience, I now share my recent feelings with you, let’s take a look at what kind of work it is.

As the flagship new product of BGVP, DM8 has changed from BGVP’s minimalist packaging, and has an oil-painted color ink envelope with a full sense of grade. Although there is no effect box painting, the big and eye-catching “8” represents the status of its eighth-generation flagship, and it is even more anticipated. There are the logos of Knowles and Sonion in the lower right corner. In the English words on the side swashes, there is the word “balanced armature”, which means that the DM8 adopts an 8 armature balanced armature configuration.

Back of the box: From the specification table, we can see that BGVP DM8 adopts an eight-unit armature architecture, with an impedance of 27 ohms, a sensitivity of 110dB, a frequency response between 10HZ-40KHZ, and a distortion rate of <0.5%. High-sensitivity and low-resistance is the consistent style of the BGVP family, and it can also be better driven for the mobile party.

The accessories are also not stingy, a total of 10 pairs of earphones such as vocal earmuffs, balanced earmuffs, and inert earmuffs. In addition, in addition to the standard 6N eight-strand single crystal copper wire, the 3.5mm and 4.4mm balanced adapters, plus the 2.5mm gold-plated balanced plug in the cable, are also fully equipped at one time. The workmanship of the storage box is also good, although a little unpretentious, but the internal space is large.

In addition to the transparent resin cavity of the silver panel, the BGVP DM8 has also specially added a “wooden version”. The outer shell is made of stable wood, and the unique wood texture is more unique in appearance, so I specially purchased the “wooden carving version”.

The bronze headphone cable that comes standard with BGVP DM8 is very sturdy, and the core conductor is a frozen upocc 6N single crystal copper 24awg wire, a total of eight strands, of which 50 cores per share, Leeds type4 structure is hand-woven. BGVP itself also has upgrade lines, such as the classic “Violet”, etc. The quality is quite good. The interface is the usual MMCX expansion socket. The attached 3.5/4.4 adapters are all curved plugs.

Although the cable is thick, it is flexible and easy to store. The cable is about 1.2 meters long. The splitter, including the plug handle, are made of thick alloy. The wear resistance and tensile resistance are enough to withstand the test of time, and there is no stethoscope effect.

The DM series has always been the flagship of BGVP positioning high-end, and the recently released DM8 is equipped with 8 armature drivers, which is a 5 Knowles + 3 Sonion unit architecture, of which the UHF is two Knowles SWFJ-31736, which is extended. The frequency response is more prominent and the sound details are fuller; the high frequency is the Knowles composite unit TWFK-30017; the mid-frequency Sonion 2354+Knowles RAF-32873 combines the characteristics of the two units to make the vocal more smooth and natural It is hard to hear; and the low frequency part is Sonion’s classic single-sided double-opening composite unit 38D1XJ007, the sound is more powerful and powerful. The earphones is luxurious in configuration, and it is equipped with independent four-way frequency technology to reduce mutual interference between units. It can be said that at the price of two thousand RMB, BGVP is quite willing to use materials, and its cost performance is naturally prominent.

The BGVP DM8 in my hand is a woodcarving version. The unique colorful wood grain of stable wood gives people a pleasing feeling in terms of look and feel. And if you look closely, you will find that the patterns, textures, and colors of the left and right units are asymmetrical. After seeing more “routinist” public molds, the natural atmosphere brought by this stable wood color is undoubtedly better. In addition, the solid wood sound cavity of DM8 is an integrated design and is processed by five-axis CNC, so there is no trace of splicing, and the workmanship is also exceptionally delicate.

The MMCX interface used by the earphones is also the one that BGVP insists on so far. In the recognition of the left and right earphones, the L/R logo is printed on the cavity, which is distinguished by the bright red and transparent ring on the cable port. It does not need to be distinguished carefully when worn.

Speaking of the wearing experience, the drop-shaped earplugs of BGVP DM8 are just right to wear on the ears. The weight of a single earphone is about 6g. It is light enough to be nothing. With an earhook, it fits the ear canal and will not fall easily. The sound insulation effect is relatively good. In addition, the earphones is also very friendly to girls. Female friends around me said it was very comfortable without any discomfort.

Each style is different with different wood grains and colors. The transparent resin version continues the design of the previous series, and you can clearly see the internal unit structure and components.

BGVP’s headphones are relatively easy to drive, which also caters for users who are accustomed to listening to music on mobile phones. However, the standard headphone cable plug is 2.5mm balanced and requires an adapter. I tried it with VIVO S7e. The sound was clean and mellow, the sound bottom was warm, and the timbre was full. The innocence and vividness brought by it made people feel comfortable and natural. The low-frequency volume is moderate, with a certain cohesion and texture, and the low-frequency extension and flexibility are also very suitable. The separation between the vocals and the instruments is good, and there is no ambiguity, but the details are slightly insufficient. The high frequency pass is transparent and bright, the extension and resolution are good, and the density is also well controlled. In general, even if it is not connected to an amp, it can still achieve most of its potential, and the sound is durable and attractive.

Then try listening with HiBY R5, and then 4.4 balance. Don’t turn it too high, the volume is twenty-three. The low frequency is rich in volume, with strong extension and depth, a certain degree of cohesion, flexibility, and a good atmosphere. There is no shortage of impact and strength.

The resolution performance of the intermediate frequency part is more outstanding, the image is clear and steady, the sound is small, the layering is full, and the density is also well controlled. The sound is transparent and stretched, the sound separation between the various instruments is excellent, and the details and layering are handled in place. The human voice is natural and delicate, the position is moderate, and the style orientation is also neutral. Whether it is quiet and beautiful, or deep and mellow, it can be appropriately expressed, giving people a natural and natural comfort. Especially female voices are particularly attractive to ears, with delicate and soft details.

The horizontal expansion of the sound field and the sense of depth are balanced, and the overall sound field is relatively wide, regardless of one loss. The high frequency part is smooth and translucent, and there is no burr feeling. The transient response is extremely fast and the amount of information is huge. The control of the small string music is also good. In short, the BGVP DM8 has balanced tri-band connection, no partiality, clear and soft sound, clear layers, and a strong “moving iron smell”.

Cai Qin——《被遗忘的时光》
Cai Qin’s singing was fascinated by me by chance when I was in college. His voice was mellow and beautiful. The cappella at the beginning is tactfully turned, and the string of memory is plucked in the ear. The sound is delicate and pure, full of penetrating power and appealing power, which brings Cai Qin’s magnetic noise to the fullest. The bass level is distinct, the middle and high frequencies are naturally connected, transparent and bright, full of presence, and there will be no deep dullness after long listening.

Linda Eder——”Once upon a dream”
As another song treasured in the playlist, it is truly amazing under the interpretation of BGVP DM8. LindaEder’s voice performance is very good, the vocals are elegant and distant, just like nature. The sound field is wide and open, and the resolution is also very strong. The piano sound is crisp and neat, and it is coordinated and full of aura with the singing voice like a natural sound.

Summary: Today’s fever headphones often ignore the rigid indicator of tuning. Whether the sound is good or not is the primary consideration for the earphones. As a new product of the DM series, BGVP DM8 does a very good job at this point. It has a high degree of completion, functional configuration, and a large number of electronic components while maintaining a high cost performance. At the same time, it also belongs to the “good sound” camp in terms of sound hearing. The three-band is balanced and natural, and the sound is smooth and full. Both mobile phones and players can produce good sound. It can be said that it meets the listening needs of most users. If you simply like to listen to songs without emphasizing playability, then it is definitely an excellent one at the same price.
