    AUKEY is a well-known cross-border e-commerce company, mainly engaged in the research and development, design and sales of self-owned brand technology consumer products. The name is a combination of AU and KEY. AUKEY is the golden key, which means the cornerstone of pride in Chinese. KeySeries “Audio Key Series” is its wireless earphones series. What will be disassembled today is one of the true wireless headset products——AUKEY EP-T10.

    AUKEY KeySeries T10

    AUKEY EP-T10 true wireless earbuds are very distinctive in appearance design and won the German IF Design Award. The charging case adopts a circular shape with a 180° rotating cover design. The earphones are bean-shaped in-ear styles, equipped with silicone earwings and eartips, providing a comfortable and stable wearing effect.

    In terms of functional configuration, the earphone uses a 6mm graphene diaphragm micro-dynamic speaker, bluetooth 5.0 chip, supports AAC decoding, and provides high-fidelity sound quality. It adopts touch operation and supports wake-up voice assistant. It supports IPX5 waterproof and wireless charging, and has an overall battery life of 7+17 hours. Let’s take a look at the detailed appearance design and internal functional configuration of this product.

    |1. AUKEY KeySeries T10 Charging case teardown

    After reading the exterior design that won the German IF Design Award, let’s enter the disassembly section to see the internal structure configuration information.

    Remove the screws and open the cavity.

    The inside structure of the box cover, the wireless charging receiving coil is pasted in the middle, and the back of the coil is a magnetic isolation sheet.

    The circuit at the bottom of the cockpit is fixed with a main board, a small charging board and a battery unit.

    The magnet is used to absorb the earphones in the cavity, and there are four indicator light guide columns below.

    The circular wireless charging receiving coil is fixed on the magnetic isolation sheet.

    Charging case Built-in polymer lithium ion soft pack battery Model: QS702030, rated voltage: 3.7V, rated capacity: 400mAh, production date: December 2020.

    The battery is equipped with a circuit protection board, composed of a DW01A lithium battery protection IC and 8205C NMOS tube, and there are fuses at the positive and negative interfaces.

    The front circuit of the power input board uses a Type-C charging interface.

    INJOINIC IP6816 TWS headset charging compartment management SoC, this is a multi-functional power management SoC that integrates Qi wireless charging and receiving, 5V boost converter, lithium battery charging management, and battery power indicator. It supports automatic detection of dual-channel headsets independently. 1-4 LED breathing light effect and 188 digital tube power display, while supporting customized 5V communication function, providing a complete power solution for wireless charging TWS bluetooth headset charging compartment.

    The high integration and rich functions of IP6816 enable it to require very few peripheral components in application, and effectively reduce the size of the overall solution and reduce the BOM cost.

    According to 52audio, there are already a large number of TWS headset charging cases of Edifier, JLab, HiBy, Baseus, Pioneer, PIHEN, Bull, AUKEY, MPOW, BoAt, Nokia, Lenovo and other brands that use INJOINIC power management solutions.

    |2. AUKEY KeySeries T10 earbuds teardown

    Remove the earwings and pry open the earphone cavity along the parting line.

    The internal structure of the back cavity is provided with a touch detection patch, an indicator light guide and a microphone acoustic structure at the bottom.

    The internal components of the earphone are fixed on the white plastic part, and the main board is fixed by a buckle on one side.

    Fix the battery inside the plastic part.

    Remove the battery and disassemble the earbud.

    The charging case is a metal copper column connector for charging the headset.

    The headset uses a soft-packed lithium-ion battery, model: AP581013, rated capacity: 0.185Wh, rated voltage: 3.7V.

    The battery in the earphone is equipped with an independent circuit protection board, and the positive and negative nickel sheets of the battery are welded on the small board, and the solder joints are full and round.

    The headset uses the Realtek RTL8753B bluetooth audio SoC, which can support the bluetooth 5.2 specification. It adopts dual-core architecture and independent DSP for sound effects and noise reduction processing, which improves the quality of music and noise reduction for calls. The chip itself supports game mode, the delay is as low as 40ms, and can support 3D sound algorithm.

    Realtek RTL8753B supports audio pass through (APT), in addition to the basic transparent mode, it can also achieve basic auxiliary listening functions. It is worth mentioning that RTL8753B can support Android/iOS dual device switching function, which can solve the current problem that TWS headsets can only be connected to one mobile phone.

    A 40MHz crystal oscillator that provides the clock for the bluetooth chip.

    The touch control IC of silk screen 133A0t is used for earphone touch operation.

    Laser carving 056 10H MEMS microphone is used for voice call pickup.

    A dust-proof net is also affixed to the sound hole on the front of the earphone speaker.

    After actual measurement, the speaker size is about 6mm, which is consistent with the official publicity.

    |3. Summary

    The appearance design of AUKEY KeySeries T10 true wireless earphones, the charging case adopts a circular rotating cover design, and the image of “Pac-Man” with an open mouth is very unique and interesting. The charging case body uses a kind of silicone texture, which is comfortable and delicate to the touch. The bean-shaped in-ear headphones use the same texture as the charging case, with soft eartips and earwings to provide a comfortable and stable wearing effect.

    In terms of internal circuits, the charging case has a built-in 400mAh lithium-ion soft-pack battery and is equipped with an independent circuit protection board. The charging case supports both wired and wireless input methods. The INJOINIC IP6816 charging warehouse management SoC single chip is responsible for wireless charging and receiving, lithium battery linear charging management, boosting for headset charging, as well as battery power indicator, warehouse detection, communication and other functions. With high integration, reduce BOM cost.

    The AUKEY KeySeries T10 earphones uses a 6mm dynamic driver and a 0.185Wh soft pack battery. The battery is equipped with an independent circuit protection board. On the motherboard, the main control chip uses the Realtek RTL8753B bluetooth audio SoC, which can support bluetooth 5.2, supports dual device switching, adopts a dual-core architecture, and independent DSP for sound and noise reduction processing, which improves music quality and call noise reduction. A MEMS microphone is used to pick up voice calls.
