Design, Acoustic Architecture and Accessories

AFUL MagicOne earbuds are very compact, even girls with small ear canals can wear them without any problem. With a panel that resembles white snowflakes and a transparent resin cavity, you can clearly see the drive unit and chamber structure inside.

AFUL MagicOne has a built-in full-frequency armature driver with innovative SE-Math electro-acoustic intermodulation technology, self-developed wide-frequency response balanced armature driver unit technology and nautilus acoustic maze technology. They represent overall quality, high-frequency performance and low-frequency performance respectively.

Compared with the multi-driver unit architecture, a single armature driver has no join problems and can give full play to the resolution advantages of armature headphones. The disadvantage is that the low-frequency is very hard, the rebound is poor, and the hearing is unnatural. These problems cannot be hidden, but it can be felt that AFUL has tried its best to improve and repair the above-mentioned deficiencies.

In terms of accessories, 6 sets of silicone eartips are provided. The headphone cable is single strand 32+37 core oxygen-free copper and oxygen-free copper silver-plated cable, and it is also a Litz TYPE4 coaxial shielding structure. The cable replacement solution is a common 0.78 2pin, and the plug itself has no design. Plus, MagicOne is available in 3.5mm and 4.4mm versions.

Sound Quality of AFUL MagicOne

The bass is loose, natural, strong cohesion, full and three-dimensional, steady and thick, supplemented by moderate reverberation and good layering – the Nautilus acoustic maze structure plays a big role. The disadvantage is that the bass extension depth is still worse than dynamic driver.

The sound of AFUL MagicOne is still slightly colder, and it will be very complementary with the warm-sounding front end, and the thickness will be increased. It won’t be overly sharp when with the cold-sounding front end. There are very few burrs and sibilance. With the blessing of fresh, slightly thick, bright and delicate vocals, whether it is the magnetic sound of the male voice or the tactful of the female voice, it can be performed very well.

Due to structural issues, single armature headphones usually cannot take into account both treble and bass. The MagicOne is no exception – given a more universal bass, there will definitely be some trade-offs in terms of ultra treble. The good thing is that the treble details and brightness are quite good, very listenable, solid and not too granular, not aggressive, and the sense of lines is relatively weak; while ensuring that the tone is restored correctly, it lacks a little sense of power and extension – try to soften it as much as possible treatment to ensure long time listening comfort.

Because it is a popular tuning, the soundstage is not particularly large, and the positioning is close – it is a relatively regular spherical soundstage. The horizontal position is basically sufficient, the vertical performance is good, and there is a certain sense of primary and secondary.

The dynamic is what surprised me – not only is it not bad, it is actually very strong. The ups and downs of strong and weak sounds are obvious, supplemented by moderate-speed transients.

Overall, the tuning of AFUL MagicOne is more like a style designed to gain recognition from more people to the greatest extent. It may not have that much personality and HuFi, but it has a healthy sound base and a balanced tri-frequency distribution – even if you don’t like it that much, I believe this is a good sound that most people will not reject. The only problem may be that the data of 38Ω and 103dB/mw has certain requirements for thrust.

Conclusion

AFUL MagicOne’s shortcomings in sound density are quite obvious – this is an inherent disadvantage. Compared with higher-priced multi-driver headphones, there is a relatively large gap. But I still think MagicOne has its own product audience.
