    Appearance Design & Comfort Fit

SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro review: The best clip-on earphones on a budget

The charging case is oval in shape, similar to most SoundPEATS TWS. It is made of metal-like plastic, and I am very worried that it will leave fingerprints and scratches. There is an LED light and a bar button on the front of the charging box. When the lid is closed, pressing it will display different colors to indicate the remaining battery level. When the lid is open, it is used for earphone pairing and resetting.

The charging case is a flip-top design, with two sections of damping when the finger is turned, reducing the chance of the lid opening accidentally. After opening the lid, the earphones automatically connects to the last successfully paired bluetooth device, reducing the waiting time during use.

    QCY Crossky C30

The SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro earphones are very similar in shape to the QCY Crossky C30, with two pearls (water-drop?) combined together via a C-bridge. Whether you like it or not, they look like jewelry when worn.

The internal skeleton of the C-shaped bridge is nickel-titanium alloy memory steel wire, and the external one is liquid silicone, which is soft and skin-friendly while ensuring good strength and toughness. It does not deform after multiple disorderly twisting and it recovers immediately after letting go.

The earphones are ergonomically designed, stable and comfortable to wear, and you won’t feel uncomfortable even for a long time. Each earphone weighs about 5.85g, and you can hardly feel their presence when wearing them. Whether running, fitness or commuting, they can fit stably on the ears.

It is worth mentioning that PearlClip Pro supports automatic left/right channel adaptation. The earphones do not distinguish between left and right ears, and they will adjust the channel adaptively after being placed in the charging case for 10 seconds. The IPX5 waterproof rating protects them for rain and sweat.

Connection – App Support – Controls

The earphones use Bluetooth 5.4 protocol and support SBC and AAC codec. When connecting for the first time, just select “SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro” in the bluetooth device list of your phone to quickly connect. When you use it again, open the lid to automatically connect to the last successfully paired bluetooth device.

Also, PearlClip Pro supports multipoint connection, meaning you can connect it to two devices at the same time and switch between them.

SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro supports the PeatsAudio App for Android and iOS. The app includes firmware updates for the earbuds, displays the battery status of the earbuds, preset EQ options, custom EQ, adaptive EQ settings, control settings, and activates game mode, dynamic EQ, movie mode, or disables controls.

Battery Life & Calls & Gaming & Controls

SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro review: The best clip-on earphones on a budget

SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro support low-latency game mode with the latency as low as 80ms. Playing games and watching videos is no problem – it works flawlessly on both Android and iPhone with perfect sound and picture sync. There’s lipsync performance in video apps like TikTok, Netflix, YouTube and Apple TV.

The battery capacity of the charging case is 350mAh, and the earphones are 35mAh. The battery life is up to 6 hours on a single charge, and the charging case can fully charge the earphones 3 times. Plus, it supports fast charging – 10 minutes quick charge for 2 hours playtime.

Its call noise reduction feature is available, allowing your voice to be loud, clear and natural, and the sound will only drop slightly when there is a lot of noise around or wind.

The touch panel is on top of the inner earphone, and responds well. It supports common controls such as play/pause music, switching track, answer/hang up call, switching modes, activate voice assistant or changing the volume.

    Acoustic Configuration & Sound Description

SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro review: The best clip-on earphones on a budget

SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro is equipped with a 12mm dual magnetic driver (PU + nickel-plated diaphragm), coupled with dynamic EQ, which greatly improves the sound.

The bass is deep, punchy and full. The midrange vocals are delicate, clear and natural, and the instruments are well separated. The highs is clear and bright, and the sound is full and layered. There is a good sense of air in the sound. The overall imaging is clear, sharp and delicate.

Another highlight is the dynamic EQ option. Turning it on makes the sound much better than many competitors.

SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro vs QCY Crossky C30

    QCY Crossky C30

SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro is one of the most comfortable earbuds tested, offering multipoint connectivity, gaming mode, and IPX5 waterproof rating. The waterproof rating and single battery life are better than QCY Crossky C30 (IPX4+5hrs). The comfort and sound quality of the two are very close, and the dynamic EQ provided by the PearlClip Pro will make it win.

They will be different choices for people with different needs and budgets. They are definitely worth considering when you want to use them for exercise and sports mostly. For more functionality and IPX5, you need to spend an extra $20 to buy the SoundPEATS.

    Conclusion & Specs

The SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro offer a comfortable fit, clear calls, and satisfying sound quality. They are lightweight, stylish, and offer great sound quality and practicality – the PearlClip Pro is undoubtedly the best clip-on earphones around $60.
