    Appearance Design & Comfort Fit

SoundPeats Capsule3 Pro+ review: A comprehensive upgrade version of Capsule3 Pro?

Although the SoundPeats Capsule3 Pro+ charging case adopts the traditional pebble-shaped design, it has many details. For example, the hinge is made of metal material, which is durable. The charging port is inlaid with a metal frame to increase the service life. The overall appearance design is consistent with Capsule3 Pro.

SoundPeats Capsule3 Pro+ earbuds adopt an in-ear design, which has the advantage of physical sound insulation. Of course, there will be a certain sense of dullness. Their shape is ergonomic and comfortable fit.

The fit of the earbud cavity is good, and they can adapt well to the shape of my ear. When I put the earbuds in my ears, I can feel a tight but not oppressive fit. This fit helps to enhance the stability of the earbuds, and they are not easy to fall out even when there are large movements of the head.

The Capsule3 Pro+ earbuds and silicone eartips are well designed, and they come with 3 pairs of eartips. The unique oval design makes it easy to wear even for ears like mine without falling off.

    Connection & App Support

The earbuds use Bluetooth 5.3 technology and support SBC, AAC and LDAC codec. When connecting for the first time, just select “SoundPEATS Capsule3 Pro+” in the bluetooth list of your phone to quickly connect. When you use it again, open the lid to automatically connect to the last successfully paired bluetooth device.

Also, the Capsule3 Pro+ supports multipoint connection, meaning you can connect it to two devices at the same time and switch between them when you receive a call, or when you pause on one device, and play on the other. It should be noted that when the dual-device connection function is turned on, LDAC must be turned off.

SoundPEATS Capsule3 Pro+ supports PeatsAudio App for Android and iOS. The app provides battery display, noise cancellation mode options, game mode switch, dual-device connection switch, custom controls, EQ settings (adaptive EQ/9 preset EQ/custom EQ), prompt tone language, OTA upgrade, etc.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) & Calls

Officially, SoundPEATS Capsule3 Pro+ supports AI adaptive noise cancellation, with a maximum noise cancellation depth of 45dB, a noise cancellation width of 1.8kHz, and a frequency range of 40Hz~1500Hz. The actual noise cancellation effect is indeed better than SoundPEATS Capsule3 Pro. There is an LED light in the middle of the front of the case, and different colors represent different power ranges.

After ANC on, it can effectively reduce environmental noise, such as air conditioning noise, computer host fan noise, etc. For continuous low-frequency noise, the noise cancellation effect is more obvious, which can create a relatively quiet listening environment.

On the bus, they can automatically increase the noise cancellation level to block the regular wind noise, engine noise, and the gentle voices of people around, but will not filter out the station announcements and broadcasts. When shopping, except for loud talking and car horns, other noises are almost blocked. Indoors, the noise cancellation level is reduced, and the keyboard tapping and air conditioning noise are eliminated.

However, the effect is not so ideal when it comes to processing vocals. In the office, on the bus or subway, the conversations of people around you can still be heard clearly.

Plus, they also support transparent mode, which can effectively reduce ear pressure and make the listening experience more like open-ear headphones. They will receive brighter surrounding noise when you need it, allowing you to hear the ambient sound around you.

Overall, after turning on the ANC mode, it can effectively block the low- and mid-frequency noise and slight voices in the environment. Also, when the ANC on, the earbuds sound better.

Surprisingly, both phone calls and voice calls are good. The call noise cancellation function also performs well in actual use. They adopt a 3-MIC call noise cancellation + anti-wind noise design, and also add an anti-wind noise feedforward microphone design. When making a call in a noisy ambient, the other party can still hear my voice clearly, and I can also hear the other party’s speech relatively clearly.

Battery Life & Gaming Mode & Controls

The battery capacity of the charging case is 500mAh, and the earbuds are 35mAh. The single battery life with ANC off is up to 6.5 hours, and the total battery life is up to 43 hours. The battery life with ANC on is up to 4 hours. The battery life will be further reduced when LDAC codec is turned on. Sadly, it lacks wireless charging and only supports USB-C charging.

The SoundPEATS Capsule3 Pro+ also has a dedicated low-latency game mode you can activate from the Android and iPhone app or earbuds. This helps to synchronize the sound effects with the action on your screen, and the latency as low as 70ms.

The touch area is located on the outside of the earbuds, and most of the control methods can be achieved through the earbuds. Plus, you can customize the control scheme on the app.

    • Single-tap L/R earbud: volume down/volume up
    • Double-tap L or R earbud: play/pause music
    • Double-tap L or R earbud: answer/end call
    • Triple-tap L earbud: game mode on/off
    • Triple-tap R earbud: activate voice assistant
    • Long press R earbud for 1.5s: next track
    • Long press L earbud for 1.5s: Switching between ANC/Transparent mode/Normal mode
    • Long press L or R earbud for 1.5s: reject call/power on
    • Long press L or R earbud for 10s: power off

    Acoustic Configuration & Sound Description

SoundPeats Capsule3 Pro+ review: A comprehensive upgrade version of Capsule3 Pro?

SoundPeats Capsule3 Pro+ uses a 12mm bio-diaphragm dynamic driver+MEMS speaker and has passed the Hi-Res Wireless certification. It is also equipped with an XAA-2000 Aptos Class-H amplifier chip, supports LDAC codec and 24bit/96kHz audio transmission, and the highest bit rate reaches 990kbps, which is almost lossless sound quality. This is also the biggest upgrade compared to SoundPEATS Capsule3 Pro.

The bass is relatively strong, the low-frequency quantity is moderate, the extension is deep and elastic. The low-frequency drums and bass sound clear, powerful and compact. The mid-frequency is natural and full, making the vocals have a good restoration. The high-frequency is bright and not harsh, and the details are rich – various percussion instruments and electronic sound effects show good details.

Overall, the tri-frequency is relatively balanced, without excessive bias, and the hearing is very comfortable. The sounding is very solid and has a certain sense of space.

    Conclusion & Specs

SoundPeats Capsule3 Pro+ is really good. It is not only stylish in appearance, but also well made. At the same time, the sound unit is also very powerful. Plus, the comfortable fit and battery life are very suitable for commuting and workout. The only drawback may be that the cost-performance is not high enough.
