    Appearance Design – Comfort Fit

The FIIL GS Lite charging case adopts a flat design with rounded corners and a smooth matte texture, which feels good to the touch – and is not easy to leave obvious fingerprints. Because it needs to store the ear hook structure, the case is larger than the TWS earbuds.

There is a groove in the middle of the front of the charging case for easy opening, and there is an indicator light below. The back of the case is equipped with a USB-C charging port.

FIIL GS Lite earphones adopt the open earhook structure design, which is mainly composed of the sound cavity, earhook and earphone-stem – a classic structure among open-ear headphones. The earphone cavity uses a frosted material similar to the charging case, with the FIIL logo and status indicator on the outside. Plus, there is a small bump to indicate the touch control area, which is convenient for blind operation.

The outer layer of the earphones is wrapped in skin-friendly liquid silicone, which is very comfortable. It is also very light, and there is no obvious weight when wearing it on the ears. Coupled with the open design, it is not tiring to wear it at all, and there will be no discomfort when wearing it for a long time.

The earhook part is made of 0.68mm titanium alloy flexible material, so there is no need to adjust the angle manually, it will automatically match and adapt to your ears. The earphones and charging case use a 6:4 golden weight ratio, which makes the weight distribution more reasonable when worn, and improves wearing comfort and stability. The average fit of the earphones is 6g, which effectively reduces the pressure on the auricle.

Connection – App Support – Controls

The earphones use Bluetooth 5.4 technology and support SBC and AAC codec. When used for the first time, opening the lid will automatically enter bluetooth pairing mode, and the white light on the earphones will continue to flash. Find and click “FIIL GS Lite” in the bluetooth list of your phone to complete the pairing. When you use it again, opening the lid will automatically connect to the last successfully paired bluetooth device.

Also, the FIIL GS Lite supports multipoint connection and can connect mobile phone and computer at the same time.

After the connection is successful, you can see the power level of the earphones and the charging case on the homepage of the fiil+ app. However, the specific power value is not displayed, only the remaining approximate battery life and the number of times the case can be charged are displayed, and the approximate remaining power is displayed with a circle. When fully charged, the earphones can play music for about 10 hours. On the homepage of the app, you can see the earphone status information, including multipoint connection, low latency mode, sound effects, and prompt volume.

The earphones have quick response to touch operation and are quite versatile, which can basically meet the needs of most situations. However, after getting the earphones, you need to set up the corresponding control scheme in the app, otherwise the default control methods are relatively limited.

Under the default settings, double-tap to play/pause song and answer/end call. Long press for 2 seconds to reject calls. Through the fiil+ app, you can set different control methods. For example, single-tap the right earphone switch to the next song, and triple-tap switch to the previous song. Single-tap the left earphone increas the volume, and triple-tap decreas the volume. There are recommended control scheme settings in the operation guide.

    Battery Life – Gaming Mode

The GS Lite also has a dedicated low-latency game mode you can activate from the Android and iPhone app. This helps to synchronize the sound effects with the action on your screen.

The battery capacity of the charging case is 480mAh, and the earphones is 35mAh. The single battery life is up to 10 hours, and the total battery life is up to 45 hours. In actual use, after playing music for 1 hour, the remaining power is still 90%. The remaining playback time displayed in the app changes from about 10 hours to 9 hours, which is a relatively accurate value.

    Sound Description – Sound Leakage

FIIL GS Lite review: 45 hours playback for sports and workout

FIIL GS Lite is equipped with an 18mm custom carbon fiber unit, which the official said costs much more than traditional dynamic drivers and has a higher frequency response range and resolution.

The vocals are not harsh, but not prominent enough, lacking some details and layers. The low-frequencies are expressive and not thin. Considering the open design of FIIL GS Lite and the corresponding price, this performance is quite good.

The fiil+ app has 3 official sound effects and multiple preset sound effects, you can choose according to your preferences or customize the equalizer. On the sound effect page, you can also switch music and adjust the volume.

The earphones use patented anti-sound leakage directional soundstage technology, which, together with the sound-blocking board and the sound-blocking net, can effectively improve the leakaging problem. In a relatively quiet environment, adjust the volume to 55%, and within a 30cm area nearby, you can basically not hear the sound from the earphones.

Overall, FIIL GS Lite is more suitable for workout or sports. Its sound quality is just usable, but not suitable for users who like to listen to music.

    Conclusion

Thanks to the advantages of the open earhook structure, as well as the optimization of weight ratio and fit, FIIL GS Lite is comfortable and stable to wear. With IPX5 waterproof and sweat-resistant, it has a good experience when running, climbing, and exercising. However, they are not suitable for users who like to listen to music.
