    Westone Audio Pro X20

The advantages of Westone Audio PRO X20 are still very prominent. Bear the brunt of its high practicability, excellent wearing, portable size, good sound reproduction, and easy audio processing. For audio workers who are looking for portability and ease of use, it can be said to be a good choice. As an audiophiles, the sound of the PRO X20 is relatively soft among the monitor earphones, and it will not lose too much musicality.

    Appearance Design & Accessories

    Westone Audio Pro X20

The packaging of the Westone Audio Pro X20 is simple and functional. Since there are many models in this series, it may be for easier identification. On the front is the model and rendering of the earphones.

This red waterproof storage box can be said to be very classic. Westone’s storage box is very well sealed, and takes care of the balance of internal and external air pressure. There is also a pressure relief knob to make it easier for you to open the storage box.

Westone Audio Pro X20 has many eartips specifications, except for soft silicone eartips of different sizes and lengths. There are also slow-rebound inert sponge eartips, with a longer tube that penetrates into the ear canal for better sound insulation. According to the data, it can reach 25db passive noise attenuation.

    Westone Audio Pro X20

Westone has always been very good in the design of the cavity, what’s the good point? First of all, you can see that the cavity profile of the PRO X20 is rounded from the front side to the back side, and it is small in size and extremely light in weight. Coupled with the thinner cavity thickness, the wearing experience is almost the top in the industry. It is very suitable for audiophiles and musicians.

The cable of Westone Audio Pro X20 is a high-strength Danish Linum Hiend cable with 84-stranded ultra-low resistance pure copper plated silver stranded wire inside. It may cost 80 euros to buy it separately. In addition, the interface is a very reliable T2 interface, which is very smooth when plugging and unplugging.

Sound Quality of Westone Audio Pro X20

Given my subconscious perception of monitor headphones, the PRO X20 felt highly consistent when I first used it, as well as conflicting with my preconceived ideas.

First of all, the place where the height conforms is that its overall jump is very small. What does that mean? That is, in the three frequency bands of high, medium and low, there may not be any frequency band that is particularly attractive to the ears, all of which maintain a high consistency and sound balanced. Secondly, its timbre is neither cold nor warm, and the overall thickness is moderate, which is basically in line with the characteristics of a monitoring earphone.

    Westone Audio Pro X20

Then let’s talk about “the place of conflict”. It’s more of a surprise than a conflict. First of all, the sound of the Westone Audio Pro X20 eliminates the impression that some of the monitoring headphones have a thin, cold, and sharp sense of hearing, which means that it also has a certain degree of music viewing.

The Westone Audio PRO X20 has the advantage that most coloration may not have, that is, its vocals have a high degree of restoration. Whether it is male or female, there is not too much rendering, and the processing on dental is also smooth. Basically, it will stay for a very short time when it encounters the dental sound, which is also related to its vocal density. The density of the mid-frequency is not high, and it is slightly grainy. Coupled with the larger mouth contour and the distance between the ears, when the PRO X20 listens to human voices, it is obvious that there is a lot of energy accumulation in the mid-frequency, but it does not feel uncomfortable. If you use it to listen to vocals, it is best to choose some vocals that have been recorded with good quality and have been edited.

    Westone Audio Pro X20

Westone Audio PRO X2 has a lot of low frequency quantity, and its low frequency is also relatively abundant, and it is absolutely no problem to listen to popular songs. However, although its low-frequency quantity is sufficient, the depth of its extension is slightly insufficient, resulting in a lack of richness in the low-frequency layering. However, if a tuner wears the PRO X20 to modify the low-frequency part of a piece of music at this time, the tuning process will be more intuitive and precise. Because the low frequency extension of the PRO X20 will not have too much excess, the control of the rhythm is also more detailed.

For the sound field, I don’t think there is much to say about the PRO X20. Because of the tuning on the sound field, I can clearly say that it is for work, and it is convenient to deal with the details of the frequency band. Its horizontal sound field is not too long, the instruments are close together, and the separation is very good. Therefore, it is more intuitive for you to distinguish musical instruments and for audio professionals to use for post-processing.

    Westone Audio Pro X20

The Westone Audio PRO X20’s high frequency resolution is good, but it is not so penetrating in the extension of extremely high frequencies. Therefore, audiophiles who pursue “extreme violent analysis” may express doubts when they hear it. Is this really a monitor sound? In fact, the PRO X20 is not so attractive to the ears because of the richer energy in the mid-low frequency and the thicker high-frequency lines. It is the typical style with weaker density but better resolution. I’m guessing this might also be a change made to try to keep the tri-band as consistent as possible. I think it fits very well with Westone’s historical sound system.

Combined, the advantages of the Westone Audio PRO X20 are still very prominent. The first and foremost is its high practicability, excellent wearing, portable size, good sound reproduction, and easy audio processing. For audio workers who are looking for portability and ease of use, it can be said to be a good choice. As an audiophiles, the sound of the PRO X20 is relatively soft among the monitor headphones, and it will not lose too much musicality.
