Accessories & Appearance Design

The accessories of Technics EAH-AZ40 include: 3 pairs of silicone eartips (XS/S/L, M are pre-installed on earbuds), Type-C charging cable, multi-language manual and precautions.

The Technics EAH-AZ40 comes in 3 colors: black, silver and rose gold. The appearance of the charging case is very simple, with a frosted design, and there is not much fancy design. The Technics brand logo is printed on the top of the charging case, and the charging interface is on the back. There is a status indicator light in the opening groove.

The panel of the Technics EAH-AZ40 earbuds cavity is made of alloy material, with the CD pattern with the brand logo on it, which makes it more delicate and beautiful. The earphones have a teardrop-shaped appearance, which is not only stylish, elegant, but also comfortable to wear.

Technics Audio EAH-AZ40 earbuds have two microphones on the back panel: the one with the larger dot area is the secondary microphone for calls, and the other is the main microphone for calls. When working, it can actively capture the user’s voice and reduce ambient noise through beamforming technology.

In the middle of the inner side of the earbuds is the voice detection microphone, which detects the voice when we speak. Ambient noise is not transmitted to the receiver without speaking. In addition, its wind noise reduction structure can also effectively suppress air vibration.

EAH-AZ40 is equipped with a 6mm bio-diaphragm dynamic driver. Although it lacks the ANC function compared to the Technics EAH-AZ60, it also supports the Technics JustMyVoice technology. This technology effectively improves voice pickup during calls (it isolates and amplifies word speech while minimizing ambient noise). In addition, earbuds is also equipped with 6 independent microphones (3 each with wind noise suppression function), which can significantly improve the sound quality during voice calls, and ensure clear and smooth communication between the two parties even in a noisy environment.

Connection & Battery Life

Technics EAH-AZ40 is equipped with a Bluetooth 5.2 chip and supports SBC/AAC encoding. Whether it is connection stability, sound latency performance, or effective distance, it is more mature than the previous generation of bluetooth technology. After actual measurement, the pairing speed of Technics EAH-AZ40 is very fast. After opening the charing case cover, the earbuds are connected to the paired audio source device.

The Technics EAH-AZ40 earbuds have a built-in 55mAh lithium battery with a single battery life of about 7.5 hours, and the charging case provides an additional 25 hours of battery life. EAH-AZ40 supports fast charging technology, which can be used for about 90 minutes after only 15 minutes of charging. There is a power indicator in the charging case, and you can know the remaining power of the current charging case through the color change of the indicator.

APP Support & Sound Mode

Technics Audio Connect is the official companion app of Technics EAH-AZ40. Through the APP, you can check the power of earbuds, you can also customize noise reduction according to your own preferences, and select preset sound modes or custom EQ. For example, if you like more bass, you can directly adjust it here to improve, providing room for audiophiles to play.

Technics EAH-AZ40 has Ambient Sound Mode and Attention Mode. Sound Quality of EAH-AZ40

The tri-frequency of EAH-AZ40 earbuds is relatively balanced, and the restoration of vocals is more natural and real. Its position has a proper protruding treatment, but it is not very close to the ear, and it is separated from the primary and secondary position of the instrument sound, creating a good sense of atmosphere. In the high frequency part, the sound is bright and transparent, and the resolution is also excellent. Although the high-frequency overtones are weak, there is a certain sense of extension, and the sound field is moderate.

Technics EAH-AZ40 does not deliberately pursue low frequency, and the volume is moderate. Transients and springiness are satisfying, although listening to rock tracks is a little less punchy. Technics EAH-AZ40 can be classified as “all-round earbuds”, which can interpret various types of songs well. People like me who are a little bit demanding about sound quality can’t pick out its shortcomings. I believe that it is no problem to meet the listening needs of most people.
