01/ Huawei FreeBuds SE 2 charging case teardown

Disassemble the charging case and take out the cockpit structure.

The structure on one side of the cockpit has a battery fixed through the frame.

The structure on the other side of the cockpit is equipped with an iron rod for Hall induction to realize the cover opening connection function.

The bottom structure of the cockpit is fixed with screws to the main board. The battery wires are welded to the motherboard and protected by glue.

Remove the screws and take out the motherboard and battery.

SinhMicro SS888AH microcontroller. SS888X is an 8-bit low-power A/D type MCU with integrated power management function and built-in operational amplifier. SS888X has built-in Charger, 30V voltage-resistant OVP, ADC, OPA, LDO, wireless charging, UART, SPI, IIC, SSP and other rich functions and interfaces, with flexible configuration modes and different low-power options.

WINSEMI WSDY3301 lithium battery protection IC is a highly integrated solution for single-cell lithium-ion/lithium polymer rechargeable battery pack protection. WSDY3301 includes advanced power MOSFET, high-precision voltage detection circuit and delay circuit. It has all the protection functions required by the battery such as overcharge, over-discharge, over-current, short circuit, etc., and the power consumption is very low when working. WSDY3301 is not only designed for wearable devices, but also suitable for all kinds of information products that require long-term power supply from lithium-ion or lithium-polymer rechargeable batteries.

The charging case is a metal dome connector for charging earbuds.

The hall element of the silk screen AG 3R is used to sense the magnetic field changes when the charging case is turned on/off, and then notify the charging case MCU and earbuds to pair or disconnect with the connected device.

The charging case has a built-in lithium-ion polymer battery, model: HB751834ENW-11, rated capacity: 510mAh 1.98Wh, nominal voltage: 3.87V, charging limit voltage: 4.45V, made in China.

Tear off the external insulation protection of the battery, and silk screen information is printed on the battery cell. Model number: LWN 731832, from LIWINON.

The positive and negative nickel plates of the battery are connected to the wires and wrapped with high-temperature insulating tape for protection. The protection circuit is located on the motherboard.


02/ Huawei FreeBuds SE 2 earbuds teardown

Disassemble the earbud stem back cover.

The inner structure of the cover is equipped with a bluetooth antenna and a touch detection patch.

The internal motherboard structure of the earbud cavity is fixed and sealed with a large amount of glue.

Take out the motherboard and connect the metal connector for earbud charging to the end of the cavity.

The earbud is equipped with WUQi WQ7031M bluetooth audio SoC. The WQ703x series supports Bluetooth 5.3 dual mode and supports LE Audio. Integrating high-performance dual RISC-V CPUs, HiFi 5 DSP and NPU, the ultra-low power consumption design provides earbuds with a single battery life of 9 hours.

The WQ703x series supports FF+FB hybrid ANC active noise canceling function and transparency mode. Supports multi-mic hybrid noise canceling and AI network smart call noise canceling, which can achieve a high-definition call experience in complex environments. Support VAD voice calling. It also has rich interfaces, integrated charging management system, etc.

Two Scientific SDHK1608HA4R7MT fully magnetically shielded precision wound inductors have significant advantages such as high efficiency, low noise floor, high sensitivity, and resistance to magnet interference. The top is high-density magnetic powder, which has higher magnetic permeability than traditional precision wound inductors. The fully surrounded magnetic shielding structure makes the magnetic field lines closer and optimizes the spatial interference to surrounding devices.

WINSEMI WSDF23B2N2H lithium battery protection IC adopts DFN-1*1 ultra-small size package. It has the protection functions required by all batteries such as overcharge, over-discharge, over-current, and short circuit. Supports CTL shipping mode, and the standby current is less than 10nA when working.

Lasdiao R340 0MDK MEMS microphone, used for voice call function pickup, comes from RAYKING.

The metal dome connects the bluetooth antenna and touch detection patch.

Disassemble the earbud cavity. The front cavity on the right is a speaker structure and is sealed with a large amount of glue.

There is a battery inside the back cavity, and magnets are fixed on the cavity wall and the charging case is adsorbed and fixed.

Remove the battery from inside the back cavity.

The earbud use a soft-pack button battery, model: HB106560EBW-11, voltage: 4.35V, capacity: 41mAh 0.1558Wh.

On the front of the speaker, a neodymium magnet dynamic driver is used.

On the back of the speaker, there is a tuning hole on the edge, which is protected by a wire mesh.

03/ Summary

The overall size of Huawei FreeBuds SE 2 is very lightweight, and the charging case adopts a rounded square design. The handle-shaped semi-in-ear earbuds fit easily into the auricle due to the curve of the body, allowing for a comfortable experience even when worn for a long time.

In terms of internal structure and configuration, the charging case has a built-in 510mAh lithium battery, and the battery cells are from LIWINON. The motherboard is equipped with a SinhMicro SS888AH microcontroller with integrated power management functions and built-in operational amplifier.
