SoundPeats Air4 Lite review: Good comprehensive experience without ANC

SoundPeats Air4 Lite is not only suitable for users who do not have particularly high requirements for sound quality, but also for friends who pay more attention to the comprehensive experience. The downside is that it does not support Active Noise Cancellation, transparent mode and in-ear detection – hopefully the SoundPeats Air 4 will add these features.

Below this SoundPeats Air 4 Lite review, you will find the specs comparison of SoundPEATS Air series wireless earbuds.

Appearance Design, Comfort and Battery Life

The charging case looks relatively large, and the shell is designed with piano paint. The mirror texture looks more comfortable, and it is easier to get fingerprints and scratches. The front of the charging case is equipped with status light and multi-function button.

The earbuds adopt the semi-in-ear long headset stem design, and the oval earbud cavity is more ergonomic and more comfortable to wear. This is also the advantage of semi-in-ear earbuds, which has a more comfortable wearing experience than in-ear earbuds. The earbuds are frosted, and the “S” logo is the touch control area.

Thanks to the earbuds’ weight of only 4.1g and reasonable design, it fits closely to the ear when worn, increasing comfort while effectively relieving pressure on the eardrum – no pressure even if worn for a long time. The earbuds have a single battery life of up to 7 hours, and the comprehensive battery life of up to 30 hours.

Connectivity, Controls and APP Support

The earbuds uses a Bluetooth 5.3 chip that supports SBC, AAC and LDAC codecs. When connecting for the first time, simply select “SoundPeats Air4 Lite” in your phone’s bluetooth device list to connect quickly. Open the charging case for subsequent use to connect to a successfully paired bluetooth device.

Also, SoundPeats Air4 Lite support multi-point connection, which can connect two bluetooth devices. Unfortunately, dual device connectivity and LDAC cannot be turned on at the same time.

The touch control functions of the earbuds are very comprehensive, and all can be operated on the earbuds:

  • Single-tap L/R earbud – volume+ /volume-
  • Double-tap L or R earbud – play/pause music
  • Long press L/R earbud 1.5s – previous/next track
  • Double-tap L or R earbud – answer/end call
  • Long press L or R earbud 1.5s – reject/switch calls
  • Triple-tap L earbud – game mode on/off
  • Triple-tap R earbud – activate voice assistant

SoundPeats Air 4 Lite support the free SoundPeats APP for Android and iOS. However, the APP has relatively few functions:

  • Adaptive EQ
  • Preset equalizer
  • Custom equalizer
  • Game mode on/off
  • Check the battery level
  • Disable touch controls
  • Volume control
  • OTA upgrade

Calls, Games and Video Playback

SoundPeats Air4 Lite supports 3-MIC call noise cancellation, which can effectively filter the ambient background sound. Especially when talking in a noisy environment, you don’t need to turn up the volume to the highest level to hear clearly. The call effect in the subway and shopping malls is relatively good, and both parties can hear the content of the speech clearly. The processing of wind noise is ok, although it is not completely blocked.

The earbuds support game mode, and the latency is as low as 80ms after it is turned on. There is also a very slight lag when playing “Call of Duty Mobile” and “Honor of King”, but it does not affect the gaming experience.

Watching videos is no problem – it works flawlessly on both Android and iPhone with perfect sound and picture sync.

Sound Quality of SoundPeats Air4 Lite

SoundPeats Air 4 Lite uses a 13mm large dynamic driver, supports LDAC codec with the transmission code rate is as high as 990kbps. It also supports AAC codec, taking into account both Android and iOS users.

Sufficient low-frequency quantity and deep low-frequency extension create a good atmosphere sense and present more details. The mid-frequency vocals are clear, bright and layered. High-frequency resolution, transient and detail restoration are also performed very well.

Note – SoundPeats Air4 Lite does not support Active Noise Cancellation, transparent mode and in-ear detection.

Verdict

SoundPeats Air4 Lite is not only suitable for users who do not have particularly high requirements for sound quality, but also for friends who pay more attention to the comprehensive experience – for daily commuting, listening music, and playing games. The downside is that it does not support Active Noise Cancellation, transparent mode and in-ear detection – hopefully the SoundPeats Air 4 will add these features.
