SoundPeats Air 4 Review: Comfortable ANC Earbuds with aptX Loslless Codec

Compared to SoundPeats Air4 Lite – SoundPeats Air 4 added Active Noise Cancellation function. It has excellent performance in terms of comfort, sound quality and cost-performance. Unfortunately, none of them support transparency mode.

    Appearance Design & Comfort Fit

SoundPeats Air 4 Review: Comfortable ANC Earbuds with aptX Loslless Codec

The appearance design of the charging case is the same as that of the SoundPeats Air4 Lite, but the surface material is different. SoundPeats Air4 has a matte texture, which is not easy to get fingerprints and scratches. On the front of the charging case are status lights and multi-function buttons. At the bottom is the USB-C charging port.

SoundPeats Air4 Lite: The appearance is the same as SoundPeats Air4

SoundPeats Air 4 earbuds are exactly the same as Air4 Lite, with a long earbud stem semi-in-ear design, and a tapered sound cavity that can fit most people’s auricles. SoundPeats Air4 adopts the third-generation semi-in-ear ergonomic cavity design. A single earbud weighs 4.2g and has very good wearing comfort. The stability is very strong, and it will not loosen even if you shake your head violently many times.

    Connection & App Support

The earbuds uses the Qualcomm 3071 Bluetooth 5.3 chip that supports SBC, AAC, aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive codecs. When connecting for the first time, simply select “SoundPeats Air4” in your phone’s bluetooth device list to connect quickly.

Also, SoundPeats Air 4 support multipoint connection function, which can connect two bluetooth devices at the same time.

SoundPeats Air 4 support the free SoundPeats APP for Android and iOS. The function of the APP is the same as that of SoundPeats Air4 Lite, only the noise cancellation mode and normal mode switching are added. Among them, the adaptive EQ function will pass a two-minute listening test, and the system will generate the most suitable sound curve for you according to your hearing.

    Controls & Battery Life

The brand logo on the side of the earbud is the touch control area, and all controls can be done through the earbuds. The control method is basically the same as that of SoundPeats Air4 Lite, except that “previous song” is changed to “ANC on/off”.

After turning off the ANC mode, the single battery life is up to 6.5 hours, and the total battery life is up to 26 hours. The battery life after turning on the ANC mode is about 3.5 hours. The SoundPeats Air 4 has a shorter battery life than the Air4 Lite.

ANC Mode & Calls & Gameing Mode

SoundPeats Air 4 Review: Comfortable ANC Earbuds with aptX Loslless Codec

The adaptive active noise cancellation function of SoundPeats Air 4 is available, but it is not very excellent – it can basically meet the noise cancellation needs of subways and shopping malls, and the noise suppression is not bad. Unfortunately, Air 4 does not support transparency mode.

A single earbud has three microphones, with CVC noise cancellation algorithm and Snapdragon Sound technology, the official promotion is only 60ms ultra-low-latency. There is no latency in the actual call experience, and the call quality is also good.

SoundPeats Air 4 support game mode with the latency as low as 88ms. Playing games and watching videos is no problem – it works flawlessly on Android support Snapdragon Sound with perfect sound and picture sync. When using an iPhone or an Android device that does not support Snapdragon Sound, Gaming and watching videos will be laggy – but not a big influence.

    Sound Description: Transparent and Clear

SoundPeats Air 4 Review: Comfortable ANC Earbuds with aptX Loslless Codec

SoundPeats Air4 uses Snapdragon Sound technology, supports SBC/AAC/aptX Lossless codes, and compatible with aptX Adaptive and aptX. The maximum code rate can reach 1.2Mbps, and the highest lossless transmission is 24bit/96kHz.

The Air 4 is equipped with a 13mm dynamic driver, and the overall performance is remarkable. Very wide and layered soundstage – creates a strong sense of ambience when playing games. Under the high bit rate transmission of Qualcomm aptX Lossless, the details in the lossless music are perfectly displayed. The medium and high frequencies are clean and transparent, and the connection with the low-frequency is very smooth, and the low-frequency quantity is just right.

The treble is transparent and not procrastinated, especially the high-frequency distortion is very well controlled. However, there was an occasional electric current sound when the music was paused, and voice reminders were a bit echoing.

    Conclusion

The overall performance of SoundPeats Air4 is very good, whether it is comfort, sound quality, calls or Active Noise Cancellation – the cost-performance is very high. SoundPeats Air4 will be a good choice for users who pursue comfort and performance with limited budget.
