01/ Soundcore A20i Charging Case Teardown

Disassemble the charging case shell and take out the internal cockpit structure.

The charging cockpit has a structure on one side, the bottom is fixed by the frame, and the main board is fixed in the middle.

Take out the battery and motherboard unit.

The bottom structure of the charging cockpit is equipped with three magnets for fixing earbuds and case cover.

The charging case built-in lithium-ion battery model: NV 801437, rated capacity: 350mAh 1.295Wh, nominal voltage: 3.7V, production date: March 20, 2023, from Novel.

The circuit on one side of the battery protection board is equipped with an integrated lithium battery protection IC and a thermistor for detecting the battery temperature.

The integrated lithium battery protection IC of the screen printing G60 is responsible for the protection of the battery from overcharge, overdischarge, and overcurrent.

INJOINIC IP5513 is a multifunctional power management SoC integrating 5V boost converter, lithium battery charging management, and battery power indicator, providing a complete power solution for TWS charging case. The high integration and rich functions of IP5513 make it require only a few peripheral devices in application, and effectively reduce the overall size and BOM cost.

The IP5513 has a built-in boost DC-DC with 5V output and synchronous rectification. The built-in power tube provides a maximum output current of 300mA, and the boost efficiency is as high as 93%. The linear charging of IP5513 provides a maximum charging current of 500mA, and the maximum charging current can be flexibly configured. Built-in IC temperature and input voltage intelligent adjustment charging current function.

Two LED indicators with different colors are used to feedback charging case battery level.

The charging case is the Pogo Pin connector for charging earbuds.

Prisemi P14C1N overvoltage and overcurrent protection IC, the input withstand voltage is up to 32V, and the overvoltage protection point is fixed at 6V. The overcurrent protection point can be set through the peripheral resistor, and the minimum precision is 10mA. Moreover, the response time of overcurrent protection can be adjusted through the cooperation of capacitors, which can meet the overcurrent protection requirements of various adapters and various projects.


02/ Soundcore A20i Earbuds Teardown

Open the earbud cavity along the mold line.

The internal structure of the rear cavity is equipped with a bluetooth antenna and a touch detection patch at the bottom.

The main board unit structure inside the front cavity is fixed by hot-melt columns, and the microphone is sealed with an acoustic rubber cover.

Take out the motherboard unit, fix the battery on the back of the motherboard. The inside of the front cavity is equipped with a magnet and the charging case is adsorbed and fixed.

Take out the speaker, the main circuit inside the earbud.

On the front of the speaker, the diaphragm is protected by a metal cover.

On the back of the speaker, there is a tuning hole in the middle to improve audio performance.

After actual measurement, the size of the speaker is about 6mm.

JL JL7006F8 bluetooth audio SoC for wireless connectivity and audio signal processing.

The 24.000MHZ crystal oscillator provides the clock for the bluetooth chip.

The MEMS microphone of laser carving F11B 0707 is used for voice pickup.

WINSEMI WSDF23A2N2H fully integrated lithium battery protection IC. Built-in advanced power MOSFET, high-precision voltage detection circuit and delay circuit. It has overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent, short circuit and other protection functions required by all batteries. And the power consumption is very low when working, and it also has a CTL shipping mode setting function. The WSDF23A2N2H comes in a very small DFN4L-1X1 package, making it ideal for rechargeable battery pack applications where space constraints are very small.

03/ Summary

In terms of Soundcore A20i’s appearance, the charging case adopts a rounded square design, with a delicate matte texture, light in size, and is equipped with a lanyard, which is very convenient to carry out. The bean-shaped in-ear earbuds adopt an ergonomic and lightweight design, which is light and comfortable to wear.

In terms of internal configuration, the charging case has built-in 350mAh lithium battery and uses a USB-C interface to input power. The port is equipped with Prisemi P14C1N overvoltage and overcurrent protection IC. The INJOINIC IP5513 power management SoC is used to manage the charge and discharge of the battery, and integrates functions such as a 5V boost converter and battery power indicator – providing a complete power solution for the TWS charging case.

The earbud has built-in 6mm dynamic driver and a 0.222Wh steel shell button battery, which are connected to the motherboard through cable. The main board adopts WINSEMI WSDF23A2N2H fully integrated lithium battery protection IC responsible for battery charge and discharge protection. Each earbud is equipped with a MEMS microphone for voice call pickup.
