After several weeks of leaks, Sony today officially announced its latest flagship true wireless headphones. The price of Sony WF-1000XM4 Earbuds is $248. The Sony WF-1000XM3, which was previously released in 2019, will remain in the company’s product line, and the price will drop to $229.99.

The new headphones will be available in black and light gray colors, both of which have golden accents. They are sold at retailers including Amazon and Bestbuy starting today.

According to Sony, WF-1000XM4 use a brand-new design that is 10% smaller than the predecessor product. It is also equipped with a new processing chip, compatible with the LDAC high-resolution communication protocol, and can restore high-definition music to the greatest extent. On all frequencies, the noise reduction effect can be improved.

When the NC power supply is enabled, the battery life has been increased to 8 hours of continuous playback, which completely beats competitors such as Apple AirPods Pro, Bose QuietComfort Earbuds and Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro. The size of the charging box has also been greatly reduced, 40% smaller than before. In addition to plugging in through the USB-C interface, it also supports Qi wireless charging.

Sony also solved a disappointing omission of the WF-1000XM3, and the new version of the new earplugs is rated for IPX4 water and sweat resistance. Sony WF-1000XM4 also has an updated voice call system that uses beamforming microphones and bone conduction sensors to improve performance. But there is still a disappointment: still does not support multi-point bluetooth connections.
