Sanag J2

After a few days of actual experience, I found that the overall performance of the Sanag J2 earbuds is quite satisfactory. In addition to the relatively novel design of the charging case, there are not many bright spots. There is no short board that affects the experience, and it can be regarded as a “bucket-level” product, which is in line with the “perfect earphones” in the minds of most users.

Appearance Design & Wearing Comfort

The design of the charging case is unique, with a long capsule shape, a bit like a chewing gum package. However, thanks to the large amount of arcs incorporated into the corners, it feels more comfortable to hold. The charging case is made of metal shell, dark gray supplemented by a matte texture, and the touch is relatively good. Due to the change of shape, the opening method of the charging case is also different.

There is a Type-C charging interface at the bottom of the charging case and an indicator light next to it.

The shape of the earphones is actually somewhat different, and the horizontal area of the earphone cavity is larger. The outer side is a black glossy textured shell, and the outer side of the cavity is designed with a hidden touch area. The outer ring of the touch area is inlaid with a circle of LED indicators, and there is a microphone opening in the lower position.

The inside of the earphone cavity has a matte skin-friendly texture, and it is much more comfortable to contact the tragus. There are two metal charging contacts near the tail. The in-ear part adopts an inclined design, and gradually narrows and becomes thinner from the inside to the outside, which is also to take care of wearing comfort.

Thanks to the ergonomic design, the Sanag J2 earbuds are quite comfortable to wear. In the normal wearing position, the inclined in-ear part is deep into the ear canal, and the inner side of the earphone cavity is in contact with the tragus. Although the cavity area is relatively large, it is also very thin and light, and the fit is better after wearing, and at the same time, the sealing in the ear canal is better, which also helps to improve the sound quality performance.

The weight of a single earphone is about 4g, which is quite satisfactory among similar products. I’ve also been wearing it to watch movies a lot in recent days, and I haven’t had any noticeable discomfort in my ears after a few hours. In addition, it is also very firm to wear in sports scenes such as running, and there is no phenomenon of loosening and falling off.

Connectivity & Battery Life

Sanag J2 is equipped with a Bluetooth 5.0 chip, which is slightly inferior to Bluetooth 5.2 in terms of connection distance, stability and delay. Take the earbuds out of the charging case and turn it on automatically, and search for the corresponding bluetooth hotspot for pairing and connection. After the actual test, the normal connection can be maintained within 15 meters, and there is no interference or disconnection.

In addition, this earphones also supports master-slave switching. Put any one of the earphones into the charging case during use, and the other earphone can continue to listen to songs, and it will be automatically paired when it is fully charged. Combined with my own usage habits, the single earphone mode is more suitable for use in driving, cycling and other scenarios.

The Sanag J2 earbuds have a built-in 40mAh lithium battery, which can provide 6 hours of playback time for the headphones when fully charged. The charging case has a built-in 400mAh lithium battery, and the total battery life is about 30 hours.

Calling & Controls

In terms of calls, the Sanag J2 earbuds supports the sixth-generation CVC call noise reduction technology, which is the mainstream “noise reduction algorithm” in the industry. After the actual experience, although the background noise cannot be completely eliminated, it can also reduce the noise to a certain extent, and at the same time enhance the human voice, so that the other party can clearly hear the content of my speech.

The Sanag J2 adopts a touch interaction method, and a hidden touch area is designed on the outside of the two earphone cavities. The specific operation method is as follows:

  • Tap once earbuds: play/pause music, answer/hang up
  • Double tap earbuds: previous
  • Triple tap earbuds: next
  • Long press earbuds 1s: wake the voice assistant

Sound Quality of Sanag J2

In order to improve the sound quality performance, Sanag J2 uses a 6mm custom HiFi miniature full-range unit with aluminized liquid crystal polymer diaphragm, and is designed as a closed acoustic cavity structure.

Taking Cai Qin’s “渡口” as an example, the low-frequency part of the drum sound at the beginning of the music is extended in place, and it is full of certain elasticity, and the low-frequency volume is controlled just right. The vocal part is clear and transparent, and even the sibilance has a good performance. The sound of musical instruments is clearly separated from the vocals, with the vocals in the front and the musical instruments in the back, which plays a good role as a foil, and the sound field is wide.

In “see you again”, the treble and midrange of the vocal part can be truly restored, and the bass part is slightly lacking.
