This year, OPPO’s newly released flagship mobile phone—— Find X5 Pro, is equipped with the Mariana NPU chip independently developed by OPPO and uses the rear camera of suspension anti-shake for the first time. At the same time, it also cooperated with camera manufacturer Hasselblad to create a new mobile phone imaging system. It is not difficult to see that the image is the main highlight of OPPO Find X5 Pro, and this also aroused my interest.

To be honest, when I first saw the rendering of the appearance of the OPPO Find X5 Pro mobile phone, I really felt that it was too ugly, which seriously violated the classic “symmetrical” aesthetic. But when I saw it for the second and third time, it seemed pretty good. The combination of the rear camera module with the arc transition and the back cover of the fuselage even reveals the beauty of the curved gloss.
What I like more is that the integrated nano-microcrystalline ceramic back cover of OPPO Find X5 Pro not only looks shiny, but also feels very comfortable to hold. In particular, the integrated design integrates the rear camera module and the rear of the fuselage, revealing a high-end and refined look and feel.
When I hold the phone, I seem to understand the reason for the design of the OPPO Find X5 Pro. The place where the index finger of the right hand touches is the missing piece of the rear camera module. Is the irregular design of the rear camera module also a sacrifice for the feel?
The OPPO Find X5 Pro is equipped with a 6.7-inch AMOLED LTPO flexible screen with a resolution of 3216*1440, a pixel density of 525PPI, 1.07 billion colors, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and good color accuracy and fineness.
As for the LTPO screen with an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz, it has a good scheduling optimization, with a minimum of 1Hz and a maximum of 120Hz, and the refresh rate mainly changes at 1Hz, 10Hz, 30Hz, 60Hz and 120Hz. For example, viewing pictures is 10Hz, short videos are 60Hz, and games are turned on at 120Hz, which is very helpful for improving the battery life of the mobile phone.

The OPPO Find X5 Pro is equipped with a three-camera combination of 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera lens + 50MP Sony IMX766 ultra-wide-angle lens + 13MP telephoto lens, which is consistent with the previous generation. This generation is mainly based on the blessing of new imaging technologies such as suspension anti-shake, Hasselblad joint name and self-developed chips, which are also the main three directions of our imaging experience this time.

The OPPO Find X5 Pro is equipped with suspension anti-shake technology for the first time, mainly adding an anti-shake module to the sensor of the rear camera to achieve 5-axis motion compensation, similar to the five-axis anti-shake technology of professional cameras. The dual optical image stabilization of the sensor and lens group is realized, so as to obtain a more stable shooting experience.
When we walk with the OPPO Find X5 Pro and shoot with a slight shake, we will get good motion compensation, and the naked eye can feel that the picture becomes more stable. However, there will be some “jelly” phenomenon on the edge of the anti-shake video, and the effect of stabilization is not particularly natural. However, the blessing of this anti-shake technology, in addition to more stable video shooting, also makes it easier for us to take clear and unblurred photos when we take out our mobile phones to take pictures quickly.
In the scene of going up and down stairs, we hold the video shot by OPPO Find X5 Pro with one hand, and after turning on the super stabilization of the camera, the picture will become more stable. However, there will still be some slight jitter problems, but the overall picture still looks relatively stable. It should be noted that after the stabilization mode is turned on, the picture will be cropped, and the video will no longer support 4K shooting, and only support up to 1080P shooting.

As we all know, Hasselblad was first co-branded with OnePlus, and after OnePlus returned to OPPO last year, the joint name between OPPO and Hasselblad has also continued. The mobile phone imaging system jointly created by OPPO and Hasselblad has also brought about several obvious changes in perception.
First of all, the mobile phone imaging system has added the orange shutter button with the Hasselblad logo, and when the shooting button is pressed, a Hasselblad “click” sound will be issued. The professional camera mode of the mobile phone also incorporates the Hasselblad element, manually adjusting the shooting ISO, shutter speed, focal length, white balance and other information. At the same time, the histogram and focus peaking are added, and manual adjustment of the focal length can provide better focus, which is more suitable for photographers with a certain shooting foundation.
At the same time, Hasselblad’s unique “XPAN” shooting mode has been added, which can reproduce the classic wide-format effect of Hasselblad cameras. Simply put, it is to make the imaged photo wider, showing a ratio close to 1:3, which instantly brings a sense of movie picture. The addition of a film-like animation effect during the shooting process will increase the shooting time.
In addition to color, this mode is also equipped with a black and white filter, but the close to 1:3 ratio of the picture also increases the difficulty of composition. If you don’t have a good aesthetic and framing ideas, it’s not easy to take good-looking photos. You can try to shoot some pictures with relatively uniform elements, so that the imaging picture can be better controlled and the effect of the shot will be better.
In addition, the camera is also equipped with 3 master filters, covering different scenes of daily shooting, namely master fairy tales, master portraits and master scenery. Among them, the fairy tale filter is mainly dreamy yellow-green, the portrait adopts the black and gold style, and the scenery style is more blues.

What are the benefits of self-developed chips?
OPPO’s self-developed Mariana NPU chip, which is a dedicated chip that OPPO released last year to add BUFF to images. Using 6nm process, it has 18TOPS computing power, 11.6TOPS/w energy efficiency ratio, 20bit Ultra HDR dynamic range capability, 20bit RAW domain processing and RGBW Pro dual-channel processing performance. It will mainly improve the image performance of the mobile phone in 4K night scene video, HDR video, 4K polar night video and APP camera enhancement.
Different from the first-shoot-then-calculate workflow of taking photos, video needs to be optimized while shooting, which allows the NPU chip to exert its performance. Compared with other mobile phones, the powerful computing power can continuously optimize the video, thereby improving the dark details and highlight suppression of the video. In other respects, in the daytime scene, OPPO Find X5 Pro exerts the flagship level of Sony IMX766 sensor, the picture maintains relatively clear details, and the color reproduction is relatively accurate. The colors are not too bright, and it looks more natural, which is considered the first echelon of mobile phone images.
At night, the imaging style of OPPO Find X5 Pro is not blindly brightening, but on the basis of ensuring the color accuracy as much as possible, it suppresses the highlights and enhances the details in the dark. However, in an environment with a large contrast between light and dark, OPPO Find X5 Pro prioritizes ensuring that highlights are not overexposed, colors are relatively accurate, and details in dark places may be missing.
Moreover, the same sensor used in the main camera and ultra-wide-angle of OPPO Find X5 Pro allows the main camera and ultra-wide-angle to better maintain consistent color coordination. However, the 13MP telephoto imaging is not bad, and under the 2x optical zoom, there are good picture details. The 2x zoom mode is also a commonly used focal length, which is more practical. At 5x hybrid optical zoom, a relatively clear telephoto photo can also be obtained, and it can support up to 20x digital zoom.

Snapdragon 8 processor, temperature control performance is not bad
In terms of performance, OPPO Find X5 Pro is equipped with Qualcomm’s latest generation Snapdragon 8 processor, 4nm process technology, and the CPU has a three-cluster structure of 1+3+4. The super-large core adopts 3.0Ghz Cortex-X2 and integrates Adreno 730 GPU.
In the GeekBench5 software test, the OPPO Find X5 Pro scored 1246 points in the single-core test and 3284 points in the multi-core test, reaching the normal level of the Snapdragon 8. In 20 rounds of 3D Mark Life stress test, the best score was 9459 points, the lowest score was 6228 points, and the stability was 65.8%.
The Snapdragon 8 processor is undoubtedly strong, but it is accompanied by high heat and serious power consumption, and it is difficult to exert the full performance of the Snapdragon 8 processor. In order to reduce the heat of the mobile phone, OPPO Find X5 Pro uses a 3161mm² large liquid-cooled heat dissipation VC and a 4830mm² 3D high-performance graphene film inside the back.
In the 40-minute “Genshin Impact” game test, the frame rate of the OPPO Find X5 Pro was acceptable, with an average frame rate of 41.6FPS. The frame rate of subsequent games mostly kept fluctuating around 41FPS, and the fluctuation range was small, so the game experience was fairly smooth. Although there were occasional game freezes, it remained smooth most of the time.
The maximum temperature on the back of the OPPO Find X5 Pro is 45.1°C. It will feel warm when you hold it in your hand, but it will not reach the level of hot hands, so the temperature control performance is not bad. It can also be seen that the game strategy of OPPO Find X5 Pro is to give priority to ensuring the temperature of the mobile phone. In daily use, the temperature on the back of the fuselage will not increase significantly, at most it will reach a warm state, so don’t worry too much.
In the experience of the two games “Honor of King” and “Game For Peace”, the temperature of the fuselage will basically be controlled below 41 ℃. The former can be maintained at an average frame rate of 117 FPS, while “Game For Peace” will also maintain an average frame rate of 88 FPS, with a smooth gaming experience and no lag.
It is worth mentioning that the charging power of the OPPO Find X5 Pro has finally been increased. It supports 80W fast charging, which can be fully charged from 0% to 100% in about 35 minutes.
In general, the back of the OPPO Find X5 Pro’s integrated nano-microcrystalline ceramic technology brings recognition and a comfortable grip. Especially in night scenes and HDR video shooting, other mobile phones may only be able to simply optimize photos due to insufficient computing power. The OPPO Find X5 Pro uses the powerful computing power of the self-developed Mariana NPU chip to realize the workflow of “simultaneous shooting and optimization”. It is equivalent to optimizing every frame in the video, resulting in a high-quality video shooting experience. Especially in low-light night scenes and shooting under strong backlight, the harsher the scene, the more obvious the advantage.
As for the suspension anti-shake on the OPPO Find X5 Pro, it brings a stable shooting experience with the help of the sensor’s five-axis anti-shake. It has advantages in fast capture and video shooting. The mobile phone imaging system jointly created by Hasselblad brings a shooting experience similar to the Hasselblad camera.
