OnePlus 11 review: Clear positioning, it is a performance flagship phone

After Qualcomm released the second-generation Snapdragon 8 processor (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2), OnePlus 11 was also released at the same time. The official even used the slogan of “future performance leader” to describe it. That’s right, performance is still one of its main selling points, and officials have been promoting it around this highlight.

  • 6.7″ 2K 120Hz AMOLED screen
  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor
  • 5000mAh+100W SUPERVOOC Charge
  • 50MP+48MP+32MP rear camera
  • 16MP front camera

01/ Appearance Design

In terms of the appearance of OnePlus 11, the asymmetric rear camera module may be more controversial. The rear camera module is made of stainless steel, and the curved surface is integrated with the middle frame, but there is no integrated design. And a scale design is added to the edge of the rear camera lens to increase the sense of hierarchy and at the same time give people the feeling of a watch.

The one I have is a black version, and the back of the fuselage is made of OnePlus’ exclusive fourth-generation silk glass technology. At the same time, the double AG glass process is adopted, so that the glass back panel on the back of the fuselage is carved with texture. But the touch will have a silky smooth feeling, and it is not easy to be stained with fingerprints.

The OnePlus 11 screen uses a 6.7″ Samsung flexible AMOLED curved screen with a resolution of 3216*1440, a pixel density of 525PPI, and a 10bit color depth. It has passed HDR10+ certification and supports Dolby Vision display. The normal brightness is 500nit, and the peak brightness can reach 1300nit. It can also be clearly displayed in the sun. It supports 120Hz refresh rate and can be refreshed adaptively at 1-120Hz. However, in actual experience, the screen refresh rate remains at 10Hz, 30Hz, 60Hz, and 120Hz.

02/ Performance Configuration

The hardware configuration of OnePlus 11 can be described as very luxurious, and it is also the top configuration among current Android phones. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor used adopts TSMC’s 4nm process technology, which has a good control on power consumption and heat generation. At the same time, it is equipped with LPDDR5X RAM, the rate can reach 8533Mbps, and there is also UFS4.0 flash memory that is standard for flagship mobile phones today.

In the AnTuTu software test, OnePlus 11 scored 1.31 million points, ranking first in the performance list. In Geekbench5, the single-core score is 1481 points, and the multi-core score is 5165 points. For reference, the single-core score of Snapdragon 8’s Geekbench 5 is about 1200 points, and the multi-core score is about 3500 points. The improvement of CPU performance is very obvious.

It scored 3691 points in 3D Mark Wild Life Extreme, with an average frame rate of 22.10FPS. The continuous reading speed tested in AndroBench is 3211.53MB/s, and the continuous writing speed is 2746.11MB/s, which is nearly double the speed of UFS3.1 flash memory. The random read speed is 394.45MB/s, and the random write speed is 555.0MB/s.

OnePlus 11 is equipped with up to Massive 16GB LPDDR5X RAM. The OnePlus 11 in my hand is the 16GB RAM+512GB ROM version, and most of the flagship phones today are equipped with 12GB RAM as standard. Larger RAM can not only prolong the service life of the mobile phone, but also reduce the situation of “killing” the background in daily use. Moreover, OnePlus 11 also added self-developed memory gene recombination technology to optimize the system fluency from the bottom.

During the time I was using OnePlus 11, without manually clearing the background apps and keeping more than 30 background apps, even if I opened the app in the morning and opened the app from the background in the afternoon, switching apps back and forth was still very smooth. What interface is the application when you exit, and it will still be that interface when you open it. Even if it is a video player software such as TikTok, you can still continue to play seamlessly when you open it.

In an indoor environment of 20°C, I also tested the game performance of OnePlus 11 in “Genshin Impact”. Turn on the extremely high image quality and 60FPS mode, adjust the performance of the mobile phone to the e-sports mode, the average frame rate of the game after 40 minutes is 56.8FPS, and the power consumption is about 5.50W (2749mW*2).

However, the temperature control of OnePlus 11 is relatively good. Use a patch thermometer to continuously record the temperature changes on the back of the phone, and the temperature has been kept below 40°C.

OnePlus 11 also provides a “limit stabilized frame” mode. With this mode turned on, I re-run the “Genshin Impact” game test for 40 minutes in the same environment. Originally, I thought the frame rate of the game would become more stable, but I didn’t expect the average frame rate of the final game to be 55.8FPS, which was not even as good as without the limit stabilization mode turned on. Looking forward to the follow-up system update and optimization. But the power consumption of mobile phones is similar, about 5.56W (2784.2mW*2).

The temperature of the OnePlus 11 fuselage rises faster, and the temperature becomes higher, with the highest temperature reaching 41.6°C.

It is worth mentioning that OnePlus 11 also provides game quality optimization with super resolution and super HDR quality, covering mainstream games, including “Genshin Impact”, “Honor of King”, “Game For Peace”, etc. . Turn on the super resolution, you will find that the clarity of the game picture quality has increased, and the sharpness of the details has increased. Turning on the super HDR image quality will activate the HDR mode display on the screen, the brightness of the game screen will become higher, the bright places will be brighter, and the contrast between light and dark will increase.

Unexpectedly, OnePlus 11 is the first to support the ultimate picture quality when the extremely high frame rate and ultra-high resolution are turned on in the “Honor of King” game. In the past, mobile phones can only turn on high-definition picture quality in this mode, and when entering the game screen, it will be more obvious that the game picture quality is clearer.

Even under the extremely high frame rate, ultra-high resolution, and extreme picture quality of “Honor of King”, after 3 consecutive games on OnePlus 11, the average frame rate of the game is 119.6FPS, the game frame rate is very stable, and the power consumption is 3.87 About W (1934.3mW*2).

Moreover, the highest temperature on the back of the mobile phone is only 35.7°C, and the mobile phone basically does not feel hot.

03/ Photography

Although OnePlus 11 is a mobile phone with positioning performance, it also has good specifications and configurations in photography. It adopts a three-camera combination and has the blessing of Hasselblad imaging.

The main camera uses the Sony IMX890 sensor, 1/1.56″ CMOS, equivalent to the iterative version of the flagship sensor IMX766, 50-megapixel (50MP), supports OIS optical image stabilization. The 32-megapixel (32MP) portrait lens uses the Sony IMX709 sensor, RGBW pixel arrangement increases the amount of incoming light and supports 2x optical zoom. The 48-megapixel (48MP) ultra-wide-angle lens/macro lens is equipped with a Sony IMX581 sensor.

The imaging style of OnePlus 11 still tends to be realistic, and the colors don’t look so gorgeous, which may not be so pleasing to the eye. But it is more realistic and has a good control over the light. Highlights are suppressed at night, and the color of light can be accurately restored in most scenes.

04/ Battery Life & Charging

In terms of battery life configuration, OnePlus 11 is equipped with a configuration combination of 5000mAh battery + 100W SUPERVOOC charge. In the case of using the original 100W SUPERVOOC charger, after my actual test, OnePlus 11 can charge the power from 0% to 100% in 25 minutes. Compared with the 80W fast charging of OnePlus 10 Pro, it is about 5 minutes faster.

In addition to the excellent charging speed, the 5000mAh battery of OnePlus 11 is also a bright spot. I use the 5-hour heavy battery life test model to test the battery life of OnePlus 11:

  • Watch the video: Play a 45-minute video in 1080P resolution in full screen
  • Tik Tok: Swipe to browse videos on the video interface, a total of 50 minutes
  • Chat: 20 minutes of text chat, 15 minutes of voice chat and 15 minutes of video chat, totaling 50 minutes
  • Weibo: Enter the list page and swipe to browse for 45 minutes
  • Camera recording: Record 1080P 30-frame video for 15 minutes. By default, the main camera takes pictures for 15 minutes, totaling 30 minutes
  • “Honor of King”: Battle Mode “Actual Confrontation”, Canyon of Kings 5V5, test for 60 minutes
  • Aliexpress: Enter the Aliexpress homepage and swipe to browse, a total of 20 minutes

Thanks to the support of LTPO3.0 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with excellent energy efficiency ratio, after a 5-hour heavy battery life test, the remaining power of OnePlus 11 is 54%. This result is considered to be relatively good among flagship mobile phones, and it can basically meet the battery life requirements of users for a day of normal use.

05/ Conclusion

OnePlus 11 can be called a performance flagship phone. In terms of performance configuration, it has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and UFS4.0 flash memory. In terms of performance optimization, priority is given to ensuring the temperature of the mobile phone. At the same time, super image quality, large bulk X-axis linear motor, etc. are added, which also enhances the gaming experience. In terms of photography, it is equipped with a tri-camera module, which can meet everyone’s daily photo needs. However, the real imaging style may not be so pleasing, and there is still a gap between photography and imaging flagship phones.
