MoonDrop Blessing 3 is a successful product that embodies MoonDrop’s step up in detail and tuning. To a large extent, it can eliminate the stereotype of some audiophiles on MoonDrop.

Design and Accessories

The workmanship of MoonDrop Blessing 3 is very good, the combination of the metal cover and the transparent cavity fits perfectly. The color matching is also very harmonious, but the metal mirror panel needs to be taken care of carefully. The transparent cavity can clearly see the internal structure and unit of the earphone.
In terms of accessories, the color of the headphone cable and the earphone cavity have a strong sense of unity. It’s a pity that no interchangeable plug is provided, and the standard 3.5mm plug still needs to be tossed for high-end players.

Blessing 3 is equipped with a well-made zipper storage bag, and the ample internal space also brings good practicality. MoonDrop Blessing 3 is equipped with 6 sets of ear tips, which are very comfortable and soft.

Hardware Configuration and Features

The most concerned configuration of MoonDrop Blessing 3 should be the new dual-dynamic design that is mainly responsible for the low-frequency part.
Blessing 3 uses horizontally opposed dual-dynamic modules (H.O.D.D.D.U.S.) technology. Two 10mm dynamic drivers are placed completely symmetrically and tightly, and are combined by 3D printed modular components. Under the premise that the maximum sound pressure is twice that of MoonDrop Blessing 2, the diaphragm stroke with the same sound pressure is only half of Blessing 2. So, you can hear the low-frequency more freely on Blessing 3.

The magnetic field arrangement of the dual-dynamic driver is ingeniously designed by the designer. This design, which is similar to a flat diaphragm, makes the two dynamic drivers more efficient and have extremely low nonlinear distortion performance. The dynamic driver adopts the classic paper dome flexible diaphragm, which has obvious advantages in the suppression of split vibration with more natural and smooth mid-high frequency.

The mid-high frequency of Blessing 3 are handled by four armature drivers. Through the transparent headphone cavity, it can be seen that the internal mid-high frequency unit is in the form of a composite unit, and has an independent active frequency division design. Thanks to the precise control of the low-frequency part by H.O.D.D.D.U.S and the well-tuned hybrid crossover structure. The connection between the frequency bands of Blessing 3, especially the connection between the mid-frequency and low-frequency parts, is very “MoonDrop”. It can be seen from the test indicators that the full-frequency phase accuracy of Blessing 3 tends to be perfect.

Sound Quality: Exaggerated Low-Frequency

The tone of MoonDrop Blessing 3 is different from the traditional hybrid earphones or dynamic earphones we are familiar with – the brightness and luster of the mid-high frequency are obvious, and at the same time it has some moderate “sweetness”. Although I am not a supporter of ACG music, I can imagine that this mid-high frequency style will be pleasing to the ear under some ethereal pop female voices and ACG music. Compared with traditional high-end hybrid earphones and dynamic earphones, this kind of hearing has advantages in details and speed, but is slightly behind in thickness and graininess.

As for the mid-low-frequency part, Blessing 3 provides a sense of strength and atmosphere with obvious advantages compared with pure armature earphones under the premise of a certain thickness of support. Although I still don’t think the low-frequency of Blessing 3 can match the low-frequency diffuse feeling of large single dynamic earphones. But it strikes a pretty good balance in terms of quantity, speed and extension.

This is a fairly healthy low-frequency performance, which provides a certain low-frequency appeal while also being able to take into account more types of music. I think this must be intentional by the designer – the excessive low-frequency performance must have an impact on the mid-high frequency performance. Of course, if compared with the previous MoonDrop earphones, the low-frequency of MoonDrop Blessing 3 can already be described as “exaggerated”.

Driver Difficulty and Matching Suggestions

MoonDrop Blessing 3 has driving features that make me happy. It is the type with low driving difficulty among the multi-unit hybrid earphones on the market, and the driving looseness is also high. While this kind of performance isn’t uncommon in more premium headphones of its kind, it’s pretty rare at $320.

A normal high-quality mini headphone amplifier can drive Blessing 3 to a pleasant enough level. I think at this time you can experience the very good sense of liveliness and musicality of Blessing 3. And when you pair it with a desktop decoding amp or DAP player with excellent current drive capability, the excellent low-frequency dynamics and high density of the entire frequency band will further confirm that the $320 is worth it.
I also tested MoonDrop’s latest neck-mounted bluetooth cable – the Little White. This is a high specification bluetooth wireless product launched together with Blessing 3. The combination of CS43131 DAC and QCC5144 SOC makes the dynamic range of MoonDrop Little White reach 120dB. With the blessing of LDAC codec and paired with Blessing 3, you can get a dynamic experience that no TWS earbuds can achieve.

However, it needs to be admitted that Little White’s performance received a more harmonious listening feedback when paired with Blessing 3. In the outdoor environment, whether it is the sound quality, the thickness and texture of the middle and low-frequency, and the detailed resolution of the full frequency band, it has an acceptable and good hearing.

Verdict

MoonDrop Blessing 3 is currently the product with the highest comprehensive quality and the best musicality in the MoonDrop family except for MoonDrop Solis 2. The price is still within 320 dollars – as long as the tuning meets your aesthetics or has certain monitoring needs, Blessing 3 can be regarded as a widely recommended product at this price.
