MIFO FiiTii HiFiDots review: Comfort ANC HiFi earbuds with egg-shape charging case

The basic experience of MIFO FiiTii HiFiDots is very mature, even if the only consideration is sound quality, they fully have the strength they should have at this price. The only problem is that the transparent mode is still far from what I expected.

MIFO FiiTii HiFiDots specs and features:
  • Bluetooth 5.3 with AAC/Aptx-Adaptive/Aptx-Lossless codec
  • 4-6 hours playback of per charge (ANC on/off)
  • Charging case can charge earbuds fully 4 times
  • IPX7 waterproof rating (rain and sweat resistant)
  • 68ms game low-latency mode and -47dB ANC
  • $199 – Check latest price on AliExpress, Amazon US or other Amazon countries

Design, Comfort and Battery Life

The charging case is designed with an egg-shape metal shell – the appearance is very rare in TWS earbuds. Many details of the charging case have been processed, such as the charging port, indicator light and button are all rose gold trimmed. The round button under the case is used to open the cover, and the cover will pop up when you press it.

FiiTii HiFiDots is an in-ear design, and the size is very small. The weight of a single earbud is only 4.2g. The part of the earbud cavity that fits the skin is very comfortable and fits well. The sound guide tube of the earphone is very short, which not only reduces the signal loss when the sound comes out, but also better adapts to the user’s ear canal without too much pressure on the ear canal. In terms of stability after wearing, I don’t recommend it for sports.

The battery capacity of the charging case is 460mAh, and the earbud is 35mAh. After the ANC mode is turned off, the single battery life is up to 6 hours, and the total battery life is up to 30 hours. The battery life after turning on the ANC mode is about 4 hours. The battery life of FiiTii HiFiDots can only be regarded as very ordinary among many TWS earbuds.

MIFO FiiTii HiFiDots support low-latency mode with the latency as low as 68ms. Playing games and watching videos is no problem – it works flawlessly on both Android and iPhone with perfect sound and picture sync.

Connectivity, Control and APP

The earbuds uses the Bluetooth 5.3 chip and supports SBC, AAC, Aptx-Adaptive and Aptx-Lossless codec. When connecting for the first time, simply select “FiiTii HiFiDots” in your phone’s bluetooth device list to connect quickly. Open the charging case for subsequent use to connect to a successfully paired bluetooth device.

Also, FiiTii HiFiDots support multipoint connection, which can connect two bluetooth devices at the same time.

HiFiDots support touch control, all control can be done on the earbuds – you can also customize the control method in the APP.

  • Double-tap L or R earbud – Play/Pause music
  • Double-tap L or R earbud – Answer/End call
  • Single-tap L/R earbud – Volume-/Volume+
  • Triple-tap L/R earbud – Previous/Next song
  • Long-press L or R earbud 1s – Switching between Mild noise cancellation/Strong noise cancellation/Transparent mode
  • Five-tap L or R earbud – Low-latency mode

FiiTii APP is available for Android and iOS devices. The functions in the APP are quite rich, but the APP store does not seem to be on the shelves yet. You need to ask the customer service for the download address or check if there is an APP QR code in the manual.

ANC Noise Cancellation and Calls

MIFO FiiTii HiFiDots support adaptive noise cancellation according to the environment, and the noise cancellation depth can reach up to 47dB. FiiTii HiFiDots also support manual adjustment of noise cancellation modes: Mild noise cancellation, Strong noise cancellation, Transparent mode.

I like the noise cancellation effect of FiiTii HiFiDots very much. It can instantly turn your environment on the bus into the feeling of being in a library (turn on the music). I found two features of HiFiDots that impress me:

One is that when the strong noise cancellation is turned on, the auditory system will not feel depressed. Also, the effect of strong noise cancellation is also very good. But I still prefer the adaptive noise cancellation mode, which automatically selects the level of noise cancellation based on the ambient noise.

The second is that it has a strong attenuation effect on wind noise, which is a problem that many noise cancelling earbuds cannot solve.

However, there is still a certain gap in the transparent mode than I expected. If you want to hear the spoken content and the ambient sound clearly, it is best to take off the earbuds.

FiiTii HiFiDots is equipped with the high-performance dual-feedback noise cancellation microphone, which can better capture the surrounding environment and provide a more stable noise-canceling effect. Each earbud has 3 microphones with adaptive call noise cancellation.

The overall test effect is relatively good, and both parties in the call can receive clear voices in a quiet environment. It also performs relatively well in noisy environments. However, some wind noise still passes through the earbuds.

Sound Quality: Clean and Transparent

FiiTii HiFiDots earbuds have a built-in 10mm ultra-thin composite diaphragm dynamic driver + two high-frequency armature drivers, which optimize the frequency division connection and acoustic structure – the earbuds are very small and almost feel-free to wear.

Low-frequency: Moderate low frequency quantity, good extension performance, supplemented by less reverberation, light rebound and great layering. Although the atmosphere of FiiTii HiFiDots is not strong, it does sound very refreshing. The low-frequency is just right, and there is room for the mid-frequency and high-frequency to play.

Mid-frequency: The mid-frequency vocal distance is moderate, the thickness is very suitable, and the mouth shape is not large. The hearing is biased towards the original, straightforward and pure style. There is a little tooth sound, which is within the acceptable range. Whether it is the magnetism of male voices or the sweetness of female voices, they can be well interpreted and taken into consideration.

High-frequency: The high-frequency is transparent and bright, the timbre of the instrument is reproduced accurately, and there is a certain air sense. The line sense is slightly stronger, and the imaging is slender and slightly sharp. The scale of the extremely high-frequency is well controlled and not exciting, ensuring extremely strong extension and detail.

Soundstage: The horizontal soundstage is average, and the edge resolution shows signs of decline. The vertical soundstage is good, and the whole presents a spherical soundstage. The positioning of each sound part is accurate, there is a certain vertical depth, and the tuning is typical of the pop style.

In terms of overall hearing, the tri-frequency is relatively balanced. The sound of HiFiDots tends to be clean and transparent, very HiFi-style tuning.

Verdict

MIFO FiiTii HiFiDots integrates previous research and development experience, and it is a very comprehensive and balanced model in terms of functionality, daily experience, noise cancellation effect, and sound quality. Compared with the TWS earbuds of the same price with the sound biased towards the public taste, the tuning of FiiTii HiFiDots is relatively more balanced and HiFi.
