    Marshall Minor III

Marshall Minor III has a highly recognizable design. Apart from the brand blessing, the design of lychee skin also adds a lot of color to the product.

The earbuds inherit the rock blood lineage of the Marshall family. The low frequency is thick and powerful, the mid frequency has strong penetrating power and explosive power, and the high frequency is clear. Overall, the user is provided with a bright, lively, and powerful sense of hearing. So earbuds are not only suitable for rock songs, but also for listening to pop music with bright atmosphere and upbeat rhythm.

Marshall Minor III specs and features:

    • Bluetooth 5.2 with aptx
    • 12mm dynamic driver
    • 5 hours playback of earbuds
    • Charging case can charge earbuds fully 4 times

    Appearance Design

    Marshall Minor III

The overall design of the charging case is the appearance of a square box with rounded corners, and the exterior is wrapped in an imitation leather material with a lychee leather pattern. The charging case cover is also designed with grooves for fingers to open and close. Below the groove is the charging indicator and the Marshall brand logo.

The bottom of the charging case is designed with a vinyl record-shaped bluetooth pairing key and a Type-C interface for charging.

The earbuds have a handle-shaped semi-in-ear design, and the underside of the headset stem has a staggered pattern design, allowing users to have a better feel when adjusting the wearing angle of the earbuds. The upper part of the headset stem is similar to the matte black design and printed with Marshall’s signature “M”.

There is a call noise reduction microphone on the top of the earbud, which provides auxiliary noise reduction for the earbud calls and makes the call quality more high-definition. On the left of the charging contact, an in-ear monitoring sensor is designed to realize the function of removing and pausing the earbud and wearing it to continue playing.

The bottom of the headset stem is designed with a golden cover, and the small hole in the middle of the cover is the main microphone of the earbud, which provides the pickup function for the call/voice of the earbud.

After actual measurement, the weight of a single earbud is 4.8g. Considering the use of a 12mm dynamic driver, the weight of the earbud is well controlled. The overall weight of the Marshall Minor III earbuds and charging case is about 49.0g, which is light and easy to carry when going out.

    Connectivity & Comfort

    Marshall Minor III

After opening the charging case, the initial pairing takes only a few seconds. And, when pairing bluetooth connection, especially it uses Bluetooth 5.2 technology to achieve the effect of fast connection. Subsequent use, as long as the earbuds are taken out of the charging case, it will automatically connect to the mobile phone.

The Marshall Minor III earbuds have a semi-in-ear design with a short sound guide tube, which makes the earbuds less deep into the ear when worn. The biggest feeling when wearing it is that the pressure in the ear canal is very small, and the pressure in the ear canal is maintained very stable. There was no obvious discomfort after wearing it for two hours in a row.

At the same time, the sound source can also be better spread in the ear canal, and the sound field can also be improved. In addition, although Marshall Minor III is not a sports earbuds, the earbuds have IPX4 waterproof level, even if rain and sweat have a certain resistance. Combined with its high level of comfort, the Marshall Minor III earbuds are suitable for a variety of usage scenarios.

    Battery Life & Control

    Marshall Minor III

In terms of charging and battery life, the Type-C charging interface is used. When fully charged, the earbud has a single battery life of 5 hours, and the overall battery life of the charging case is 25 hours. The earbuds support fast charging function, which can play music for 1.5 hours after charging for 15 minutes. The earbuds can be fully charged in 1.5 hours of charging, and the charging case can be fully charged in 2 hours. In addition, the charging case also supports a more convenient wireless charging function.

The touch interaction of earbuds is very simple, and the touch does not distinguish between left and right earbuds. Tap once is the start and end of the call/music, Double tap is to reject the call/switch to the next song, Triple tap is to switch to the previous song.

    Control of Marshall Minor III:

    • Tap once L or R earbud: play/pause music
    • Tap once L or R earbud: answer/hang up
    • Double tap L or R earbud: next song/reject call
    • Triple tap L or R earbud: previous song

Sound Quality of Marshall Minor III

For the audition of earbuds, the songs we choose are biased towards songs with rock and pop styles for audition. The Marshall Minor III has no “flaws” in low frequencies due to its semi-in-ear design. Thanks to the adoption of the 12mm dynamic driver, the low-frequency performance of earbuds is still strong, which solves my most worrying problem.

In terms of listening, Marshall Minor III has indeed inherited the Marshall family’s consistent low-frequency tightness, mid-frequency smoothness, and high-frequency bright and powerful characteristics. Rock music is actually a test of the adjustment of speakers and earbuds. Because the rhythm of the song is strong and there are many dynamic changes, if the earbuds are not good enough in terms of resolution, the whole song will become chaotic immediately.

    Marshall Minor III

When listening to Queen’s “We Will Rock You”, the background beats were solid and powerful, combining texture and quantity. The texture is mainly reflected in the feeling of air resonance when the beat falls, and the quantity is reflected in the low-frequency overtone part. The overall feeling is a refreshing and powerful low frequency.

The high frequencies of the earbuds belong to the clear and loud style. Instruments such as electronics, synthesizers, organs, etc. can play their part on earbuds, and the sound is loud and powerful. Because the high frequency is loud and powerful, the high frequency of the earbuds will not appear burrs caused by excessive force, which is also Marshall’s family-style tuning.

In the mid-frequency section, the vocals of the earbuds are centered, and the thickness and graininess are moderately controlled. The tuning of the vocals mainly emphasizes the penetration, and the overall sound is more active, which is in line with the atmosphere of rock music.
