Logitech G502 X Plus review: The light and fast G-series mouse

After comprehensive experience, Logitech G502 X and Logitech G502 X PLUS have a lot of improvement in appearance and performance. Such as the substantial weight reduction, faster feedback and replaceable key design are the strong backing of gamers.

Logitech G502 X Plus specs and features:

    • Supports 100-25600 DPI
    • LIGHTFORCE hybrid fretting
    • 13 programmable control keys
    • Custom lighting and animation effects
    • 37-120 hours battery life (RGB ON/OFF)
    • Dual mode speed wheel

    Appearance Design

Logitech G502 X Plus review: The light and fast G-series mouse

The Logitech G502 X and G502 X Plus continue the Gaming design language of the G502, with a lot of custom-programmable buttons at first glance. Whether you are playing MOBA, shooting or casual games, you can find the most suitable “macro operations”. It is worth mentioning that this generation has 13 programmable control keys, 2 more than the previous generation.

I got black and white this time, the black one is Logitech G502 X (Wired) and the white one is Logitech G502 X Plus (Wireless). The overall feeling is low-key and concise, and it will not feel very awkward when used as an office mouse. Users can also adjust the lighting through the LIGHTSYNC function within the Logitech G HUB software. You can use official preset effects, or customize lighting and animation effects.

The first feeling when you hold it in your hand is that it is very light. As a G-series and Master-series user, these two mice are arguably one of the lightest Logitech mice I’ve ever dealt with. According to the official introduction of Logitech, the thin-walled exoskeleton design is adopted this time. The overall weight of the Logitech G502 X is only 89g (the G502 X PLUS is 106g), while the previous generation G502 weighs 121g. That is to say, the G502 X series successfully “loses weight” by about 26%.

    Performance

The Logitech G502 X series is equipped with a new Hero 25K sensor that supports 100-25600 DPI. It is worth mentioning that, considering the size of the player’s hand, Logitech also made the DPI button a replaceable design, so that hands of different sizes can easily switch DPI. The new LIGHTFORCE optical + mechanical fretting provides lower-latency optical triggering, while retaining a clear and crisp mechanical fretting. It gives the player feedback on even the slightest movement. In the actual game process, it is very clean and neat.

    Operate

Both the Logitech G502 X and Logitech G502 X Plus feature a dual-mode fast scroll wheel. This low-resistance scroll wheel weighing only 2.5g can switch between fast mode and ratchet scrolling mode, and supports left and right tilt. The actual experience is very similar to MAGSPEED on the Logitech Master3. The fast mode has almost no resistance, can do thousands of lines per second, is quiet and fast. The ratchet mode gives better tactile feel and weight, allowing users to fine-tune it.

It is worth mentioning that the Logitech G502 X and G502 X Plus have been upgraded with more flexible PTFE mouse feet. There is less damping when sliding on the desktop, which saves more effort.

    Connection & Battery Life

The Logitech G502 X uses a wired connection, while the Logitech G502 X PLUS uses a wireless connection. Featuring Logitech LightSpeed technology, an end-to-end wireless solution that provides low latency and reliability. In terms of connection stability, I have no complaints, even when the wireless receiver is plugged into the back of the desktop computer, I can have a stable connection. There is no need to worry about mouse disconnection or lag when playing games.

In terms of battery life, it can also achieve up to 120 hours of battery life when RGB is turned off. Up to 37 hours of battery life when RGB is turned on.
