LETSHUOER DX1 review: Not a traditional dynamic IEM

The LETSHUOER DX1 is a single dynamic driver in-ear monitor (IEM) priced under $200, featuring high resolution and balanced listening experience. The DX1 was officially launched at the Shanghai Exhibition in February 2025, with a listening event on March 1.

    Appearance Design & Comfort Fit

LETSHUOER DX1 review: Not a traditional dynamic IEM

The LETSHUOER DX1 features a stainless steel shell with a distinctive faceplate design that combines hexagonal metal patterns and a mirror-plating finish, creating a visually layered effect. The high-density, rigid stainless steel construction theoretically helps suppress unwanted resonance, providing a purer sound background.

The center of the earphone panel is decorated with gold, featuring a mirror finish on the outer side and a brushed texture on the inner side. The overall workmanship of DX1 is quite fine, whether it is the joints of metal parts or the polishing of the edges, all show a high level of craftsmanship.

The cavity is similar to a cylindrical design, and the wearing comfort is slightly inferior to LETSHUOER S15. The weight is moderate, and the stainless steel material brings a certain sense of weight, but the overall comfortable is still suitable for long time wear. It fits well for most users unless they have particularly small ears.

However, side-sleeping with these IEMs is not recommended. The passive noise isolation ability is average, and there are no significant pressure balance issues.

    Cable & Acoustic Configuration

LETSHUOER DX1 review: Not a traditional dynamic IEM

The LETSHUOER DX1 comes with a 256-core silver-plated monocrystalline copper cable, with optional 3.5mm single-ended or 4.4mm balanced plug version. It uses a 0.78mm 2-pin detachable connector.

The shielding layer can be seen via the surface of the headphone cable. The cable is two-stranded, the braiding is relatively tight, and there is a slight self-winding phenomenon. The cable is very thin and soft, and it is not cumbersome to wear. Additionally, the package includes 9 pairs of eartips and a storage case.

The DX1 is equipped with an 11mm aluminum-magnesium alloy nanoparticle-coated dynamic driver, boasting extremely high diaphragm rigidity. The single dynamic driver design ensures seamless frequency transitions without crossover distortion.

    Sound Description & Driving

With an impedance of 30Ω and a sensitivity of 108dB, the LETSHUOER DX1 is easy to drive, delivering solid performance even with portable amplifiers or entry-level player (e.g., FiiO M21, Cayin RU9).

LETSHUOER DX1 review: Not a traditional dynamic IEM

Bass: Moderate in quantity, with a certain thickness, but not exaggerated fullness. Deep extension and excellent elasticity. The drum beats are realistic, with both texture and atmosphere, suitable for pop, rock and other music.

Mids: The vocal distance is relatively close, and the mouth shape is controlled. The vocal is warm and full, and it is natural and pleasant to listen to. There is no clear distinction between the tendency of male and female voices, which has a certain bonus for delicate vocals.

Treble: The brightness is sufficient, and some exciting synthesizer sounds are clearly emphasized. The extension ability of the sub-treble is good, and the roll-off is not too early, but it is a little fast. The treble is cohesive and clear, delicate with a glossy sheen, particularly excelling in the performance of string instruments and violins, offering rich extension and overtones.

Soundstage and Separation: The horizontal soundstage is wide, the vertical layering is excellent, and the instrument positioning is clear. The separation between the vocal and the instrument is good, and the overall sense is relatively strong. The resolution is strong, the transient response is fast, the dynamic performance is excellent, and it can handle large-scale classical music.

Overall, the sound is slightly warm and bright, with moderate sound coloration and high naturalness – it is a balanced tuning with no obvious shortcomings.

    Conclusion

LETSHUOER DX1 is a single dynamic IEM with a very competitive price of $200. With its exquisite workmanship, easy-to-drive characteristics and balanced sound performance, it has become one of the best choices in this price range.
