Design: Mini body and excellent physical protection
The LaCie Rugged Mini SSD measures 66.9×105.3×17.3mm and weighs 114g – it can easily fit into a pocket or backpack. It is worth mentioning that the Rugged Mini SSD contains at least 30% recycled materials (recycled plastic, aluminum).
The Rugged Mini SSD has a double protective structure – an orange highly elastic rubber case with a groove design that provides excellent external impact performance, good grip and anti-slip effect. Benchmark Test: Outstanding reading and writing performance
The LaCie Rugged Mini SSD tested this time has a capacity of 1TB, and Crystal Disk info shows its actual capacity is 1000.2GB. The temperature is only 28℃ at room temperature of 24℃, using UASP protocol. The Type-C interface of Rugged Mini SSD supports the USB3.2 Gen2x2 standard, and the interface bandwidth is 20Gbps.
Crystal Disk Mark Test: Rugged Mini SSD has a maximum sequential read and write speed of 2122.7MB/s and 1861.55MB/s. The read speed exceeds the nominal value of 2000MB/s, and the write speed is basically in line with the performance level of high-speed USB3.2 Gen2x2 mobile storage devices.
The TxBench test results used for comparison tests show that the maximum sequential read and write speeds of Rugged Mini SSD 1TB are 2121.043MB/s and 1848.716MB/s, which are basically the same as Crystal Disk Mark.
AJA System Test (video file writing and reading tool): Set 4GB file size, 3840x2160UltraHD resolution and 10bit YUV encoding format in the software. After testing, the Rugged Mini SSD has a read and write speed of 1975MB/s and 1745MB/s.
ATTO Disk Benchmark Test (mobile storage device test software): The Rugged Mini SSD’s 4KB file read and write speeds reached 104.23MB/s and 193.95MB/s respectively. Starting from 256KB, the reading and writing speed basically reaches 1.8GB/s and 1.6GB/s, and after 512KB, the reading and writing speed is close to 2GB/s and 1.7GB/s.
File Reading and Writing Test: Complies with USB3.2 Gen2x2 level
Due to the limitations of the Windows system asset manager, the actual file transfer speed of the mobile storage device will deviate somewhat from the benchmark test. I copied a 20GB movie file from the Rugged Mini SSD to my desktop and achieved a maximum read speed of 1.71GB/s.
Then copy the movie files from the desktop to the Rugged Mini SSD, and the writing speed is stable at 1.14GB/s, which greatly improves the data storage efficiency.
Practical Management Software – TOOLKIT
