Appearance Design, Comfort and Battery Life

The earhook of JBL Soundgear Sense is designed with skin-friendly material, which is very comfortable to wear. This skin-like material feels delicate and also has anti-slip properties.

Also, the earhook support 3D dual-axis multi-angle adjustment, which can be adapted to the ear sizes of different users – allowing the headphones to fit the ears better and the speakers to be closer to the ear canal. While wearing more firmly, it can also bring better sound effects.

Not only that, but for friends who have intense exercise needs, they can be turned into neckband headphones by connecting the tail of the earhook through the neck strap.

The headphones have a single battery life of up to 6 hours and the total battery life of up to 24 hours. Also, JBL Soundgear Sens support fast charging function – 15 minutes of charging, 4 hours of listening to music.

    Connectivity, App, Control and Calls

JBL Soundgear Sense support Bluetooth 5.3, and has the transmission experience with low latency, low power consumption, and strong anti-interference ability. Moreover, Soundgear Sense support multi-point connection, which can connect two bluetooth devices at the same time.

In the JBL Headphones APP, you can set touch control and preset EQ according to your needs. Provides five preset EQ (JAZZ/VOCAL/BASS/CLUE/STUDIO) options, and professional users can also manually adjust the EQ curve to obtain exclusive sound effects.

The control area of the earbud is on the “JBL LOGO”. Common pause/play, volume +/-, switching songs, activating voice assistants, and answer/end call can all be done by touch control. The following is the specific operation method:

    • Single-tap L earbud – volume+
    • Single-tap R earbud – play/pause music
    • Double-tap L or R earbud – answer/end call
    • Double-tap L earbud – volume+
    • Double-tap R earbud – next track
    • Triple-tap R earbud – previous track
    • Long press L or R earbud 2s – microphone on/off, activate voice assistant

Call Test: I made a phone call on the subway, and I was able to hear the other party’s voice clearly. And when communicating with the other party, you can basically not hear the noise of the subway running, and my voice can be heard clearly.

Sound Leakage and Sound Quality Review

JBL Soundgear Sense review: Comfortable open-ear headphones for outdoor sports

JBL Soundgear Sense headphones have a built-in 16.2mm dynamic driver with a unique bass enhancement algorithm technology.

The mid-frequency quantity is sufficient, and the vocals can be heard clearly. The low-frequency is thick and the extension space is large. The treble is clear and bright, and the hearing is very good.

I also listened to songs with a stronger rhythm while running (“Empire State Of Mind” and “Stan”), the performance of JBL Soundgear Sense was fully released – the overall is very dynamic and has a strong rendering power. The sound seems to come from the external environment, and the three-dimensional sense of music is stronger.

Also, JBL Soundgear Sense is equipped with open directional soundstage technology, which can realize the directional transmission of sound. In the actual audition process, there is almost no sound leakage, which has no effect on the sound quality.

    Conclusion

JBL Soundgear Sense is a true wireless open-ear headphones that is very suitable for sports. The stable wearing and large-sized sound driver unit can definitely become a music partner during exercise, making listening to music while exercising a kind of enjoyment.
