JBL is a well-known audio brand under Harman Kardon, and its products cover various types of speakers/audio and headphones. What will be disassembled this time is a product of JBL’s flagship lightweight design and comfortable wear——JBL C260TWS.

The JBL C260TWS true wireless earphones adopts a handle-like semi-in-ear design in appearance. The charging case is very light and compact. The headset is ergonomically designed, with a lightweight body, providing a comfortable and stable wearing effect. In terms of functional configuration, built-in 10mm driver unit, with JBl pure low-frequency sound; equipped with bluetooth 5.3 chip, support dual-channel transmission, support AI call noise reduction, support low-latency game mode; also support IPX4 waterproof.

|1. JBL C260TWS charging case teardown

After unpacking, we learned about the detailed appearance design of this product. Let’s enter the disassembly part to see the internal structure configuration information.

Pry open the charging case cover and take out the headset cockpit.

In the cockpit inner structure, the “T” type main board is fixed on the cavity by screws.

The battery unit is connected to the motherboard through the socket.

Disassemble the internal components of the charging case cockpit.

There are 5 magnets on the inside of the cockpit to absorb the charging case cover and earphones.

The dual N-channel MOSFET of silk screen 6802 is used for headphone charging control.

The single-chip microcomputer of the silk screen 843200ABA09 is used for the control of the charging case.

The Hall element with silk screen 8291 923 is used to detect the magnetic field changes when the charging case cover is opened and closed, and then inform the charging case MCU to control the headset to pair or disconnect the connected device.

The charging case indicator on the motherboard is equipped with black foam to prevent light leakage.

The battery is connected to the plug of the motherboard.

The charging case uses a lithium-ion soft pack battery, model: YD602035, rated voltage: 3.7V, rated capacity: 400mAh/1.48Wh, from YD Electronics.

The battery is equipped with a circuit protection board, composed of a DW01A lithium battery protection IC and 8205A NMOS tube, and supports temperature detection.

|2. JBL C260TWS earphones teardown

Enter the disassembly part of the earphone and pry open the cavity along the parting line.

The back cavity of the earphone is provided with a soft pack battery.

The speaker and the battery are respectively connected to the main board by wire welding.

The earphone pressure relief hole is protected by an internal dust-proof net to prevent foreign objects from entering the cavity.

Take out the speaker in the front chamber.

In the internal structure of the front cavity, the pressure relief hole is provided with a dust-proof net. A magnet is fixed on the cavity wall with glue, which is used to adsorb the charging case.

After actual measurement, the speaker size is about 10mm, which is consistent with the official publicity.

The internal soft pack battery of the headset is also from YD Electronics, model: YD451012, rated voltage: 3.7V, capacity: 35mAh.

Pry open the back panel of the earphone handle.

Touch detection and bluetooth antenna patches are arranged on the inside of the earphone handle.

Take out the main board, the bottom of the cavity is provided with a microphone sealing cover to improve the radio performance.

The earphone indicator is provided with a round black foam cover to prevent light leakage.

The headset LED indicator is used to feed back the pairing status and remaining battery information.

The charging case is the metal copper column for charging the earphones, and it is sealed with a rubber gasket to prevent water from entering.

The main control chip in the headset uses Actions ATS3015 bluetooth audio SoC, which has the characteristics of high performance, low power consumption, and low cost. The kernel adopts RISC32 streamlined instruction set structure, built-in large-capacity storage space to meet different bluetooth applications. Support bluetooth 5.3 dual-mode, support bluetooth audio playback, load sound effects at the same time, support bluetooth hands-free calling, echo cancellation and noise reduction algorithms.

|3. Summary

JBL C260TWS true wireless bluetooth earphones in appearance design, the charging case adopts a small rounded square design, shiny piano paint process, the body is smooth and round to the touch, with a strong texture performance. The handle-shaped semi-in-ear headphones are also compact and light, with a pure white color body, matte material, and stylish and comfortable to wear.

In terms of internal circuits, the charging case uses Type-C interface input power, built-in lithium-ion soft pack battery capacity of 400mAh, equipped with circuit protection board and protection IC, connected to the motherboard through wires and sockets. On the main board, a single-chip microcomputer with silk-screen 843200ABA09 is configured for control of the charging case. Hall element is used to detect the switch state of the charging case cover and realize the functions of automatic connection and automatic disconnection.

JBL C260TWS use a 10mm dynamic driver and 35mAh soft-pack batteries inside, which are connected to the motherboard through wires. On the motherboard, the main control chip is Actions ATS3015 bluetooth audio SoC, which can support bluetooth 5.3 dual-mode, and supports bluetooth audio playback while loading sound effects. It supports bluetooth hands-free calls, echo cancellation and noise reduction algorithms, and a MEMS microphone to achieve clear calls.
